Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 David Wright dons the suit.Check out the unamused Gretchen Randolph in the background keeping the watch out for unwelcome sexy Santa helpers.David Wright and Heath the Bell:
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Here's what confuses me about all this.Don't some of the kids visiting still believe in Santa? Do they know that this Santa is David Wright? Would they rather see David Wright or the real Santa Claus? I'd think they'd want to see both!I'd think they'd be better off with somebody over 60 playing Santa, and David Wright alongside him, greeting the kids.Anyway, I know John Franco was Santa for many years, but who have the post-Franco Santas been? Who filled the role between Franco and Benson? Did Mike Cameron ever do it?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Yes, Mike Cameron did it between Franco and Benson. Franco was at the party yesterday. He should still be Santa. He's not doing anything else and that way the kids could meet David Wright and Santa.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 julio franco would play santa, but he's too old.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Great gallery of Klassik Met Santa shots at Rubin's blog (plus juicy Anna Benson news -- Mets Lose World Series Cuz of Me).

Guest sharpie Guests Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Color photographs appear to have been invented sometime between 1988 and 1997.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 If the pictures were being taken for newspapers they would have taken them in black and white because the papers weren't printing color photos back then, except maybe on the front or back cover.I remember when Newsday first switched to color film they had a problem printing those color photos in black and white. (I don't remember or understand the reason for the problem. I just remember Mets caps looking "reversed." The orange NY insignia looked darker than the blue of the cap.)

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Rusty Claus would fit the suit well.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Mazzilliclaus is a comfort to chldren everywhere.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Actually, that baby was screaming because Darryl took her cocaine away.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 At least he thought it was cocaine. I think he snorted her powdered formula.
Guest cooby Guests Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 That baby reminds me of the first couple years' worth of my daughter's Santa pictures.(that's Willie's wife?)
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I'm surprised we've gotten this far into this thread without seeing Anna Benson's décolletage. We're a tasteful bunch.
Guest cooby Guests Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Met Santas and children are always a better picture than she isRemember those Lady Mets Clubs pictures that were in the Mets Yearbooks many years ago? They would do the Christmas parties. I wonder if they are still the ones who do themI always wanted to be in the Lady Mets Club when I was a kid
