metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Well I feel a whole lot better than I did last night.......we have found our offence....
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 WFAN guys were just talking about Edmonds being overated and how he deliberately makes his catches look better, and then, this.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Helluva catch.Oh well.Oliver Perez will take the mound in the bottom of the 6th. I'd like to see him go as deep into the game as possible. Hopefully he'll go at least 7, if not 9.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Nice catch by Edmonds on a Reyes blast to end the inning. Now Pwerez needs to go out and shut their ass down in the bottom of the inning.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I'm with ya. Keep Ollie in as long as possible. We have a huge buffer to work with and get someone from the pen if he starts to struggle.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 That catch may not be enough for a ruthless pricking. That homerun is another story, however.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Edmonds' solo shot cuts the difference to 11-4.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 So much for shutting them down. I thought Beltran had a shot at it, but it was just out of his reach. Great effort by Carlos though.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Oh it's not just the FAN guys. Edmonds ABSOLUTELY spreads around the mustard on some of his catches - oarticularly the ones that he needs to come in on - but NO ONE goes back on a ball better than he does and he's been doing that for over a decade now.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I thought he had it too....Perez has done the job though....
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Come on, 10 outs and we have a game at Shea Wednesday night
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Indeed, Beltran made a great effort.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 I think Oliver is done now.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Nice effort, Ollie. You did far better than we ever expected. Now let the pen take over from here.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Thats RUTHLESSLY PRICKING THIS GAME BUBBLE!
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 11-5 on Molina's solo shot.Ollie leaves after 5 2/3 with a 6 run lead.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Willie pulls Perez, thank you Oliver.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Perez must have gone to the david wells school of pitching...when you've got a big lead just groove it in there.i know his final line is 5 runs, but i'm happy with this outing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 First Eckstein, now Molina ... anyone else get the opinion that if the Cards trotted Jason Tyner up there he might just send one over the wall?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 noooooooooooooonot Molina.Anyone but Molina......and Eckstein.Anyone but Molina and Eckstein.and an banged up Edmunds.Anyone but Molina and Eckstein and a banged up Edmunds. .shitpaddies!
