Guest sharpie Guests Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 So I fly outta LaGuardia on Friday. My plane is delayed so I'm in the terminal for a while. I come back on Sunday, to the same gate except that now there are DELTA AIRLINES - OFFICIAL AIRLINE OF THE NEW YORK METS signs all over the place, even on the little strip right below the baggage carousel. I imagine they've been the oficial airline for a while but they didn't make noise about it til the playoffs.
Guest Ned Fengus Guests Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Or until the Mets proved to be anything but horrible. Some companies are so vain.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Airlines have been frequent sponsors of sports arenas during this naming-rights era.I wonder if this partnership is a potential sign of things to come for a certain stadium coming soon next door to an airport near you? Delta already has the basketball arena in SLC, Utah I believe.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I can see it now FK....Mets new stadium will be called The Delta Hanger.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 i'm not sure that an airline tie-in would have a positive effect on stadium food.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I've had some good meals on British Airways. In fact, when you go to England, there's a good chance that the airplane food will be the best thing you taste during your entire trip.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 The unintentional implication is that the plane is Kitty Hawk-class.
