Not for nothing I see an awful lot of beer being wasted, when Kerry won the All-Ireland yesterday they didn't waste the beer, all you saw was them slugging it back like there was no tomorrow.

Technically, Bud Light isn't really beer.

How the Hell is Rick Peterson having an intelligent articulate conversation with her?

Julie: Edgy what's it like working day after day with this bunch of guys?

Edgy: Um? What's my name?

Oh geez, I completely forgot this:

Yahoo! This is your celebration
Yahoo! This is your celebration

Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)
Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)

There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times, and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you

Come on now

Celebration
Let's all celebrate and have a good time
Celebration
We gonna celebrate and have a good time

It's time to come together
It's up to you, what's your pleasure

Everyone around the world
Come on!

Yahoo! It's a celebration
Yahoo!

Celebrate good times, come on!
It's a celebration
Celebrate good times, come on!
Let's celebrate

We're gonna have a good time tonight
Let's celebrate, it's all right
We're gonna have a good time tonight
Let's celebrate, it's all right

Baby...

We're gonna have a good time tonight (Ce-le-bra-tion)
Let's celebrate, it's all right
We're gonna have a good time tonight (Ce-le-bra-tion)
Let's celebrate, it's all right

Yahoo!

Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)
Celebrate good times, come on!
It's a celebration!
Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)

Come on and celebrate, good times, tonight (Celebrate good times, come on!)
'Cause everything's gonna be all right
Let's celebrate (Celebrate good times, come on)
(Let's celebrate)...

metirish - "Yeah Glavine has lined up a few cabbies for the ride home."

No cabs allowed. Let the team drink and party until they pass out, then the can sleep it off in the safety of the clubhouse. Under no circumstance should cabs be allowed into the equation.

Maybe that's one of the reasons why they had the decency not to clinch in Pittsburgh!

I don't want to go to bed. I want to keep feeling this way for a while.

I was thinking the same thing...like that "Pat" skit on Saturday Night Live, can't tell if it's a guy Pat or a girl Pat, and the other people in the skit are afraid to find out...

So this was by far the best game I've ever been to. I'll do a proper recap tomorrow, but hot damn was that fun! You know it's a good night when the 7 train operator starts throwing in "Lets Go Mets!" in between announcements.

Let's Go Mets! Wooooooo!!!!

I kind of wanted to take the train to the game (haha) but it was better driving. We caught the last of the highlight reel on Mets Extra, followed by Steve Somers' intro, which lead into a really nice highlight reel of the entire season, with all the appropriate music, New York Groove, Brass Monkey, the Daddy Yankee song Reyes and Delgado use, Sweet Child O'Mine, etc.

First Inning: Guy near us with a great sign. "Queens: A Great Place To Live, Work, and Clinch!" That was my favorite of the night, although you can't beat the classic simplicity of "Willie for President."

Between the first and second innings: On Diamonvision, my boy Duaner, shown at the top step of the dugout. Lots of cheers.

Third Inning: I think Jose Valentin knew that curtain call was coming as soon as the ball left the bat. Same thing for HR #2.

Fifth Inning: I notice something different in right field. They've moved the banners over towards the bullpen to make room. Big black empty spot between the 2000 banner and the RF flag pole.

Seventh Inning: Cops on horseback staging in RF next to the Mets 'pen.

Ninth Inning: Everbody on their feet. Loudest ovation for Enter Sandman so far this season. "Fans, just a reminder, it is dangerous and illegal to enter onto the playing field, and anyone doing so will be arrested."

As the players went to the clubhouse, Diamonvision showed the SNY feed. Lots of cheers for the interviews, particularly Wright, Omar, Jeff Wilpon/Willie Randolph.

We go to buy our shirts at the under-staffed, heavily-mobbed concession stands, and then head down to the field level as the players have come back out. Nice size crowd gathered near the Mets dugout. Players, friends, wives, kids, etc. Shawn Green's little girl is really cute.

Players spraying champagne, beer, water on the fans; Paul LoDuca gets the hose from behind the pitchers mound and gets tons of people before one of the groundskeepers runs over a turns it off.

David Wright takes the time to shake the hand of EVERY single security guard, goundskeeper, and police officer on the field.

Music playing on the PA as the on-the-field celebration continued; it finally wound down around 11:00, when we left. Security was super-accomodating, as long as you didn't want to go onto the field. Very nice touch by the Mets.

Wow...

]Delgado has the most games (1,703) among active players without a postseason appearance.

I can't imagine what he's feeling right now.
