Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Pat Burrell continues his Met killing ways with a 2run dinger.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Boo. Howard singles and Burrell hits a homer. Maine retires the next three in order. 6-2 Mets heading into the bottom of the fourth. Maine's at 76 pitches.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 With all the abuse Howard has handed out, Pat the Bat is another reason the Mets don't want to see the Phillies in the playoffs.Later
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Maine still looking for his first ML hit. Will be in 2006?
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 That was a heck of a 4th -inning rally. Few grounders go past and under gloves, a bad decision on a sac attempt and a goofy call all add up to 6 runs. Green's hit sounded like the only real legit shot of 'em all.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Run Jose Run!!!!! 16th triple of the year.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I'm all proud of the discipline I'm shoiwng by not tuning in, but I like to see triples to left.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Maine with a nice 1-2-3 fifth, and the game is now official.7-2 Mets.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Just a guess, but Burell must've been complicit, considering the descriptions of the sticky basepaths.

Are they trying to save their bullpen?Later

The innings seems to coming easier since then too.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Has anyone ever seen a stat that tells the average number of pitches that a batter sees during a plate appearance?I don't necessarily mean for a given pitcher, but for baseball as a whole?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Maine with another incredibly smooth 1-2-3 inning. He got Burrell that time.Pat has 36 career homers against the Mets, one behind Barry Bombs. He has 17 at Shea.
