Delgado being on base all day was pretty cool.

It would have been far cooler if Mr. Rock the Pastel Shirts didn't leave 10 Mets on. Shazzbat.

Wright's left a small village on base the last coupla days.
- 3 Ks on Tuesday.
- Then another today, plus a bags-drunk pop-up, and only a Cabrera error kept him from hitting into 2 GiDPs

Just saw ESPNs highlights of the game on Sportcenter--and all they showed were clips from Wagners ninth.
WTF?

"...and Wagner does something he has never done before--hits the opposing pitcher with a pitch...."

Ahhh--excuse me--the Mets scored 6 runs in the first 3 innings and seein a lil a that would have been nice.
Sheesh.

I was scoreboard watching this one in St. Louis, with supplemental updates from my Sidekick (and the first inning recap courtesy of Iubitul - thanks!). Frustrating as heck, but at least the Mets won.

Then we saw Looper pitching like Looper for St. Louis, which made me appreciate Alpaca Boy more.

Technically, he wasn't the opposing pitcher. He was the opposing batter, a pinch-hitter whose day job is as a pitcher.

So you had a pitcher pinch-hitting for the pitcher, who got hit with a pitch, so he was replaced by a pitcher serving as a pinch-runner, who got replaced by another pitcher serving as a pinch-runner for the pinch-runner for the pitcher who was pinch-hitting but got hit by the pitch.

Cool.

That was overmanaging to a degree that I've never seen it.

Last night's game, by the way, made me really feel old. I've seen players that looked young to me, but last night Joe Girardi, the Marlins' manager, looked young to me.

Sheesh! Before I know it, the President of the United States will look young to me.

By the way Seawolf, that is an all-time great avatar.

Nice work.

OE: Let me note that when I made this comment I was seeing the Dr. from Scrubs. The cheerleader's cute though. So the nice work part stands.

I just LOVE IT when the opposing manager not only takes the bat out of a hot hitter's hands by asking him to bunt, he then forces him to bunt with TWO STRIKES after already showing 2 badly executed bunt attempts!

What a gift. Thanks, Joe! And here i didn't get you anything... i'm so embarrassed.

That K turned the inning around for Wags and lead to a Mets victory.

BIFL!!!
