Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I think it's because I have two guys projected to make the team who aren't yet on the 40.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Sounds like things are just about finalized:- Apparently Pelfrey will stay behind in Florida (remember minor leagues don't start as early) for the first two weeks unti lthe 5th slot is needed.- So that leaves room for the extra OFer; meaning Milledge if his wrist recovers, Johnson if it doesn't- Burgos may have locked up his spot, at the expense of Sele. Without another hard thrower in the pen aside from Wagner it sounds like they want Burgos to make the squad for a different "look". Meanwhile Adkins probably killed his chances. Wonder if they'll try to trade him, cut him, or sneak him to a minor league roster? So, until Pelfrey comes up to replace ???, we're looking at:(4) Starters: Glavine, Hernandez, Perez, Maine(7) Relief: Wagner, Heilman, Schoenweis, Burgos, Feliciano, Park, Smith(8) Starting 8: LoDuca, Delgado, Valentin, Reyes, Wright, Alou, Beltran, Green(6) Subs: Easley, Castro, Franco, Newhan, Chavez, [Milledge/Johnson]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Milledge went 1-fer-2 today and it was apparently enough to convince them he's good to go as they sent Ben Johnson to the minors. Also Andy Handy. On the pitching side, they added Joe Smith & Aaron Sele to the ML roster.

I find Vic's easier to take in.Eh, the fact that I had a thought of doing the same exact thing on a website idea long since scrapped years ago I kind of like it.Though it would be just one page of course, and you wouldn't see various versions. Once a player was off, they'd be gone from the page, or at least just mentioned in text on the page.It is annoying though that I have to log in in order to read this thread though with all the html code in there.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Pedro, Duaner, Padilla and Williams are all starting on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 23.Guillermo Mota is officially on the "restricted list."Source: Official press game notes.---Also, it appears that Jason Vargas was removed from the 40-man roster and replaced with infielder Jose Castro.Source: Mets.com roster page.

Yes, it was Adkins, not Vargas who is off the 40. The press notes differentiated that he was "outrighted" to AAA, while Pelfrey was "optioned."

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 We have 42 guys on the 40-man roster (above).Adkins was removed from the 40-man at the start of the season.Mota either doesn't count against the 40-man limit or isn't on it -- I'm not sure which the restricted list falls under. The organizational chart is still possibly the coolest thing ever. I always imagined that Omar had a huge one of those things -- on his wall, Josh Lyman-style.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Yeah, thanks for solving the Adkins thing.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Where's Michael Abreu, the power hitting first baseman/ senior citizen they signed out of Cuba last year? He played at AA last year and IIRC hit the ball well during Spring Training this year.Is he on some unknown disabled or inactive list, or was he released?Later
