metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 These un-written rules are silly, play the game and that's that.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 i dont think you tag up unless the ball is hit deeply enough that you can walk home, you also dont steal bases, its just the right way to play the game, and if i were the phillies i'd peg someone tonight.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 disrespecting your opponent is bullshit. its the same as throwing the ball up multiple scores in the closing minutes of an NFL game or trying to get quick shots off up 25 in the closing minutes of a basketball game.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 LMAO----Phils announcer says ( of Julio) " This is the guy they got for Chris and Anna Benson."

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 To heck with the right way to play the game. The most a team owes you in the late innings of a blowout is to pull a few of their stars. You can't ask players --- particularly those struggling to retain or improve their roles --- not to play.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 ]Bullshit-theres no time clock in baseball.and you can technically score a TD, recover the onside kick and score again and then do it again in football, that doesnt mean a team up 21 is throwing with 3 minutes left

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Great, now we are talking about how the Mets should play a blow out game, cool, let's have that every IGT.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Throwing bombs for TDs late in a game where there's a finite amount of time to score is not the same thing as simply deciding not to play. "Running out the clock" helps the winning team to win since it, well ... runs out the clock. Choosing not to tag doesn't bring about the end of the game any sooner. There's nothing for Philly to be upset about tonight except for their own inept play.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 ......that last out was interesting.Glad i hung out for that.Mets kick ass. J.D. is a prophet.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Tonight we had a chance for the ultimate triple happiness:Mets beat the Phils.Atlanta loses (down 11-1),and BOSTON beats the Skanks (up 7-3).(still an outside chance)I have Reitsma on my CPF fantasy team and his ERA for the night was 54.00.eyeeeeeeeeeeecurumba.
