Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I remember the first game this year when I started the IGT about 5 hours early and was worried that that was too soon.Let's see if we can keep this thread around until Opening Day.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Where's Durham? Surely Dickshot will have convinced Omar to trade for him by then.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I expect, at a minimum, we'll see a different catcher and second baseman in the starting lineup when April rolls around. And maybe a different first baseman and at least one different corner outfielder. And that's the kind of stuff we'll have to spend the next few months wondering about.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 That's post 6666 for Yancy. Interesting number. I'm a little scared.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Yeah, there may be a few late scratches. We'll see.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I think we can expect some changes in the coaching ranks, Manuel to the bench and Alomar to 1st.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 It's too bad Glavine has to start this one with Pedro blowing out his elbow, shoulder and big toe during that memorable 17-inning performance in the finals of the World Baseball Classic. It's also too bad he hung that slider to Jason Bay, giving Canada the upset win.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Backman will figure out a way to win it for us. Just you wait.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 The MFYs acquiring Bay made that game even more difficult to take.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Celine Dion singing "Oh Canada" was awful....
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Let's hope David Wright can put his surprise oxycontin addiction behind him.
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Freaking WWSB - can he please put Beltran 2 and Wright 3?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Looks like this game may be a washout, rain is forecast for April 3rd.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 We have a few changes to the lineup. Cameron moves to San Diego, and Jacobs is out, replaced by Carlos Delgado. 1) Reyes, ss2) Beltran, cf3) Wright, 3b4) Delgado, 1b5) Floyd, lf6) Diaz, rf7) Castro, c8) Matsui, 2b9) Martinez, p
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 That lineup is pure fantasy. WWSB would never bat 2 lefthanders back-to-back.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Also, Nady will prolly start ahead of Diaz.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 We swing heavily toward rightnanded hitting these days..

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 I'm looking more deply toward the bench and such. I don't really see a problem at all. We replaced a lefthanded bat with a lefthanded bat.WashingtonMets1) Wilkerson, lf2) Vidro, 2b3) Johnson, 1b4) Guillen, rf5) Zimmerman, 3b6) Church, cf7) Schneider, c8) Guzman, ss9) Hernandez, p1) Reyes, ss2) Beltran, cf3) Wright, 3b4) Delgado, 1b5) Floyd, lf6) Nady, rf7) Castro, c8) Matsui, 2b9) Martinez, p
Guest sharpie Guests Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Not so sure Guillen will be there for the Nats. His injury sounded bad.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Wagner better not blow this game, prompting a single word post from JB.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Looper .... WagnerBoth have 6 lettersBoth have two syllablesBoth end in "-er"Wagner 's parents met on a double-Looper roller coasterLooper's parents were listening an opera by Wagner when he was conceived.Coincedence? I think not!
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Zito had the better spring training. I wonder why Pedro got the start.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 It's because Omar and Willie won't give a white boy a break.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Zito will get plenty of starts since Omar traded the rest of the rotation for Manny.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Did Delgado stand for "God Bless America"?, his 3 run homer was sweet....
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Anybody else get the feeling that Pedro isn't liking pitching to LoDuca?WashingtonMets1) Wilkerson, lf2) Vidro, 2b3) Johnson, 1b4) Guillen, rf5) Zimmerman, 3b6) Church, cf7) Schneider, c8) Guzman, ss9) Hernandez, p1) Reyes, ss2) Beltran, cf3) Delgado, 1b4) Wright, 3b5) Floyd, lf6) Nady, rf7) LoDuca, c8) Matsui, 2b9) Martinez, p
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Manny's such a punk. I can't believe he asked out of the opening day game 'cause he has the sniffles.
