Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 A Seaver post worth hailing!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 What a great day. Graves is finally sent down to AAA and the CF clan has increased the CPF roster by one with the addition of Ryan. It doesn't get much better than this.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Glad Graves got sent down, and in general, I thought Minaya was pretty good, but when Steve asked him about Seo, and Minaya said, "You have to remember, Seo wasn't pitching that well in Norfolk," I kind of flipped out. What planet is Minaya living on? Twelve quality starts in a row? I'll grant him that it's not QUITE as good as he's been up here, but he was still pitching lightyears better than Ishii.Anyone else catch the interview?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 HAIL! Seeya, Danny Graves. Thanks for nada.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Hail!so Graves goes. Kool and good riddence. Did he flip Randolf the bird on the way out?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I don't have anything to add, I just wanted to get in on hailing GYC's Seaver post.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 They also said Trax to start on Friday. That gives Benson an extra day off after his 2/3-in ning start?

Guest Beenso Guests Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 are u kidding me? graves was how we were gonna win this thing....minaya stinks
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 why does the middle piece of hail look like a hairless crystal troll? or is it just me...
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 metsmarathon wrote:why does the middle piece of hail look like a hairless crystal troll? or is it just me...No, marathon, that's you who looks like a hairless crystal troll.(Just kidding. You left a hanger over the plate, so I had to swing.)
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Dr. Joseph and his son, Dr. Jeffrey Dellarusso must not have done a good job on Omar if he thinks he saw Seo pitch poorly in Virginia.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Sounds to me like we're not going to have a "Memories of ..." thread.Later

patchyfogg Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I hope that someday--in the grand tradition of Charles Barkley being misquoted in his autobiography--Omar blames his horrendous reading of that ad's copy on his eyes.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Ah deed eet, and could not be happiuh with tha results. Call One. Eight-hundrit, e-y-e, c-a, r-e ...NOW!!!!

Guest GYC Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 ]In the wake of Steve Trachsels return to the Mets, the team designated Danny Graves for assignment, meaning they have 10 days to trade him, release him or outright him to a minor league roster if he clears waiversWe feel we're a better team with Jacobs as opposed to Graves, Willie Randolph said, as quoted by Ben Shpigel in the New York TimesIt is the second time Graves has been DFAd this seasonI need a couple of days to think about it, Graves said, as quoted by Adam Rubin in the Daily News. It's just weird, two times in one year. I never imagined that would happen.According to Rubin, Graves is now considering retirementGood riddance.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I'm as happy as anyone that we DFA's Graves. But I wish him no ill will. On a strictly human level, you have to feel sorry for the guy - he tried his best, and he didn't mean to suck.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 He has to clear waivers before he can report to Norfolk. And if/when he does, chances are that he'll be brought right back when the rosters expand on Sept 1.
