Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 With the recent move to the CPF's new home, many of the members adopted new names. It's hard to know who your "talking" to sometimes. So I devised this little cheat sheet in order to keep track of the members and their various personnas. As the title of the thread indicates, this is far from a complete and comprehensive list. However it is the best that I could do with minimal research and my feeble memory. I hope that this list is helpful to others. I invite members to add names that I may have overlooked or simply forgot over the years to this thread so that I can update the list..New CPF name...=darkred]Old CPF name....=black]MOFO nameThe Consistent and Stable - If it's not broke don't fix it.abogdan...=darkred]abogdanA Boy Named Seo... =darkred]A Boy Named Seo/JG Part DeuxCenterfield...=darkred]Centerfield II......Centerfieldcooby...=darkred]cooby.....coobyDiamond Dad...=darkred]Diamond Dad...Diamond DadDuan...=darkred]Duanheep...=darkred]heepHillbilly...=darkred]Hillbilly... Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 This is fantastic work. I still need to remind myself who seawolf and sharpie are.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 I was both cal koonce and sharpie on MOFO.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 that is just super stuff Doc, I was just PMing with someone to ask who is that person, and I never knew WP and Giant Squidlike Creature were the same person...thanks alot.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 It kind of ruined the mystery when I was outed as GSLC.I was Willets Point, Othemts, and Monsieur Metropolitan at Metsonline, just for clarification.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Thanks for this.I can see clearly now, the rain has gone...
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 I thought keeping the 17 would make it just a little bit easier to remember me.
Sandgnat Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 I am the artist formally known as Mutsfan/Thread Killer/Armin Tanzarian for those of you keeping score at home.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 I appreciate the feedback from everyone. I will update the original post as corrections and additions come in.I kept drawing a blank on Willets name from the MOFO. I could only remember his less used tag in which he responded in French. Thanks for jarring my memory for Othemets.Great to have you with us again Sandgnat. I immediately recognize old handles when people point them out to me, but I just couldn't come up with all of them on my own.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 The missing MOFo name for Kasey is "Mezzman," but he used a lot of his CPF handles.Archie Griffin/Jim Rockford/McGarett/Higgins also seems to be among the missing.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Jersey Shore is a handle that goes back to the MOFo.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 So I guess we'll never be having an annual masquerade party with this crew?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Why is this such a hot issue?Remember "be the ball, see the ball, hit the ball"?Well, IMO, you see the post and respond to the post (or thread topic). Why would someone have a different opinion about, or version of, a response depending on who they reply to? I realize its nice to know, but wasn't this already the topic of another thread? That said, nice job, Doc.Later
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 >>>Why would someone have a different opinion about, or version of, a response depending on who they reply to? <<<I think that's a bit of a stretch of the underlying intent or spirit of the post.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Then, why is knowing this so important?Later
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 It's putting a name with a 'face'.I appreciate it.
Sandgnat Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Its nice to know who is who considering a lot of us have met each other in person at least once.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 That, and we are elitist swine. It's in the original by-laws somewheres. The cynic in me thinks he knows where MFS is coming from and I ain't even going there because it's nonsense.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 And the basically good person in me meant that I really was curious about the answer. Gnat's comment makes sense. And the more that I think about it, some of the CPF-ers like numbers, others like to "see" a picture through words. It makes sense to know who you're replying to.But we basically have our own styles. Thanks,Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Comments come in context. Knowing who the poster is or has been, and what they have previously written, helps frame their comments in a greater context.Context aids clarity. Clarity aids understanding. Wisdom aids wisdom. Yadda.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 and yadda adds yadda? I always thought they came in pairs. Never saw a single yadda before.I learn new things every day.ThanksLater
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 single yaddas exist, but are rarely seen in nature. its harder to make little yaddas when they're alone like that...
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 I can't believe that I forgot to put jerseyshore down for her (just kidding jersey) participation at MOFO.I appreciate all the input from everyone. I am leaving tonight for a conference in Dallas. I will check in on the forum once I get settled in. I can't make it on classes alone.I hope to do something about the color scheme of the initial post later. I tried to use the Mets colors of blue and orange, but the orange is rather hard on the eyes.
Guest thecrane Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Wasn't he going on some cross-country adventure?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I know that blue, orange, and black are the Mets team colors, but I had to change the color scheme for the original post. The orange made my eyes hurt.Has jg or sponge ever checked into the new crane pool? If so, what name are they using now?
