Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Minty getting a down-up. Or up-down or whatever they call it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Should've let him finish the inning. This team has a surfeit of respect for Javier Sanoja.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 It's down to a one-run game with the tying run on second, and still seven outs to get.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Wagaman pinch-hitting against the lefty with first and third and one out. The Marlins switch to a righty. Davey Johnson would double-down and go to Melendez, but in the age of the short bench, it is a rare, rare move to pinch-hit for a pinch-hitter. The Hot Corner 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 He does it. PInch-hitting for the pinch-hitter! Get it done, MJ!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Toby Myers getting the eighth. This means they are trying to keep either Devin Williams or Luke Weaver out of the game.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Yeah as shitty as the Marlins played in the field the number of times theyve come back tonight is nothing short of humiliating. How dare they disrespect our best night in weeks
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Mets keep looking to their next reliever instead of looking for one more out from the guy who is in, and eventually they run out of effective relievers.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 So Bichette assures Soto gets walked in the 10th
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Extra innings after a day off, and still no Devin Williams. Is he hurt?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Closing out the visiting opposition scoreless in an extra inning should be counted as a Save ... or maybe a 'Pre-win'
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 He sure seems to be handled very gently this year.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Shocked that they pitched to Soto, and at least as shocked he went after that pitch.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Good thing we had Brujan's speed out there.!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 And he didn't break his leg pouncing on HP !!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 MJ fell behind 0-and-2 by chasing two balls well out of the zone. That third pitch should have been nowhere near the plate. But it was, and he lost it, and Bonnie Tyler abides.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Down to Manaea and Williams out of the pen tomorrow. MFS62 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 A scratched-out win, but a good teamy effort. Everybody in the lineup reached base except Torrens, and he pegged a would-be basestealer and otherwise shut down the vaunted Marlins running game, and he had a sacrifice as well. Even Wagaman gets some points, even though all he did was get introduced and then sit down. He forced the Marlins to pull Cade Gibson after only one out and burn one more reliever in an extra-inning attrition battle.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Points! Schafer points! I remember those! I guess we stopped doing them?
