Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted March 16 Posted March 16 1. We didn't get an answer to this, so I'd like to ask again. There is a game recounts archive. Is this an okay place to use as storage for old game threads? We find that during the season, the team (Mets) forum is overrun with game threads. I can move those threads to that archive forum every morning, it's part of my daily tasks. 2. What is the member promotion forum, and should it remain? 3. Are there any forums that are missing from the old site?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 1. Yes, that's an appropriate place. 2. That's where we brag about our personal accomplishments and/or disclose our illnesses. If we decide to keep it, it should be restricted to Old-Timers. 3. I noticed that the Tabloid Cover Derby archives isn't included. This is one of those that will be empty until and unless the archive files are restored. Brock Beauchamp 1

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 What if I keep asking? How about now? A Boy Named Seo 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 People weren't participating. There's little reason to think that will be any different now.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I still would like to know how to add to older threads in the Prospect forum. There seems to me no reply space (or did I miss it?) Some of us follow these players for years, even after they are gone from the Mets. Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I went to the oldest topic in that subforum, the one about Brandon Sproat, and I am able to reply.

You should be good to go now.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I clicked on random threads in that forum and could not reply to any, including the one BG mentioned

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Thanks guys, I guess I tried before it got fixed. I'll try again. Later OE: YUP, saw it. Thanks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 19 Posted March 19 One thing I just noticed is that this forum doesn't look like it has a something that I used often in the previous home: a 'Preview' feature, one where you can see a preview your impending post both for proof-reading purposes and just to see how the post looks especially if pictures or links are included. Or maybe there is one and I just don't see it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 19 Posted March 19 No, it's a way to help double-check your message prior to posting it. It has nothing to do with being undercover or anything like that. Centerfield 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I noticed this too. It's a useful feature and I miss it.

If you want to muck around with the formatting, you can click the source button on the top left, and then toggle back. If you want to upload and insert an image of Botty McBotface, it shows the image where you put it.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Yeah, the reason there isn't a post preview is because the text editor itself is a pretty accurate preview.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Very impressed with how easy it is to add images and links etc
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Trying something here... These are some cells from Excel

I think what it does is give you a preview of your post when you hit SUBMIT, so you can review your work, and then you can select UNHIDE from the menu that drops down from the ... menu. I think. Anyhow, I just used it in that manner for this post and it more or less seems to have worked that way. Thank you for reviewing your work. Very thoughtful.

metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Wait you can just copy and paste straight from excel? What wonderful witchcraft is this!? Brock Beauchamp 1

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Told y'all the software was a step up. As a person who used BBCode tables for decades, being rid of that awful system is a MASSIVE upgrade.
