Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Stanton, Yellich, Ozuna. What an outfield that the Marlins were never going to keep together.Ozzie Albies has been doing it in division for the better part of a decade. Imma go Albies.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 They had Realmuto on that team too. At the 2016 trade deadline they were 9 games over .500, 4 back in the division and led the Mets by 2.5 for the wild card. Their two trade deadline acquisitions (Fernando Rodney, Andrew Cashner) both performed badly, and then Jose Fernandez killed himself in the boating accident in September. And then the next year, those 4 hitters were even better, but with no upgrades to the pitching the results were no better. Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Since I'm coming in late, I'm assuming all the easy answers are off the board. I'll go with a guy that used to be good but isn't any more.Kris Bryant.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I figured Ozzie has enough homers and has been in division long enough to be in there, but I expected him to be scraping the bottom of the list. Unexpected to see him at number four — outhomering glandular cases like Marcell Ozuna and Kyle Schwarber.

A guy tells me that Kris Bryant was active in 2025, and my first instinct is to think I'm talking to a crazy person and to come up with a way to excuse myself.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Albies and Bryant were both on my radar, but I finally went with "nah" on both of them. How about consistently annoying phormer Phillie Rhys Hoskins?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 I too was very surprised by how high Albies (and Hoskins) are on the list [th]Player[/th][th]Homers[/th]Bryce Harper40Gincarlo Stanton38Freddie Freeman31Ozzie Albies22Marcel Ozuna21Anthony Rendon*21Kyle Schwarber20Juan Soto19Austin Riley19Paul Goldschmidt18Ronald Acuna Jr.18Rhys Hoskins17Nolan Arenado1616Matt Olson15Trea Turner15JT Realmuto14Christian Yelich14Aaron Judge1413 *Still listed most places as “active” since he was on a MLB roster in 2025, but didn’t play in a game.Short of the list:Josh Bell, 11Kris Bryant, 11Andrew McCutchen, 9Max Muncy, 9Wilson Contreras, 4Bonus answerLindor is correct. metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted March 16 Posted March 16 aha! i knew i was right. (damn, i looked for him too) trevor story...?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I think we still need the last few answers here. Preferably from the guy who actually knows them.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 Thanks for the reminder! We were looking for Cody Bellinger with 16 and former-Met Javier Baez with 13. There might be another quiz or two out there with cleanup needed before opening day…will get on that. Full list below. Player Homers Bryce Harper 40 Gincarlo Stanton 38 Freddie Freeman 31 Ozzie Albies 22 Marcel Ozuna 21 Anthony Rendon* 21 Kyle Schwarber 20 Juan Soto 19 Austin Riley 19 Paul Goldschmidt 18 Ronald Acuna Jr. 18 Rhys Hoskins 17 Nolan Arenado 16 Cody Bellinger 16 Matt Olson 15 Trea Turner 15 JT Realmuto 14 Christian Yelich 14 Aaron Judge 14 Javier Baez 13
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Reordering the list by the percentage of HRs each hit off the Mets shows this, although an asterisk should go to Soto since he hit 43 of his 244 as a Met so his 19 of 201 would move him up to 9.45% so between Acuna and Hoskins. MFS62 1
