Infielder J.D. Davis is on the move again.

The former Mets and Yankees player has signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels, FanSided’s Robert Murray first reported on Thursday. Davis also received a spring training invite and will compete for a spot on the team’s opening-day roster.

The Angels will be Davis’s fifth team in two years. Those teams include the San Francisco Giants, the then-Oakland A’s, the Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles.

The internets are saying that the MFYs are in talks with Jose Iglesias.

If they sign him, it would feel like a tug at my heart strings and a kick in the gonads.

Cookie Carrasco signs a minor league deal with the MFYs.

He's been much more of a tomato can than a cookie in the last two seasons.

Pham's catching up to former Met Octavio Dotel --this is like his ninth team, and he'll probably be traded again at the deadline.

Marcus Stroman, who went 10-9 last year with an ERA of 4.31 and is projected as the MFYs sixth best starter, having a hissy fit already because he's a starter and will not pitch out of the bullpen.

I liked him when he wore our colors but he seems like a dick since he left.

Daniel Vogelblob has retired and is now a coach for the Pirates. If he doesn't lose some weight, his heart is going to retire him from life sooner rather than later.

It's only a few games into the new season, but ex-Met Wilmer Flores already has three HRs and is near the top of several league batting categories.

Ex-Met Jacob deGrom was dominant in his comeback start: five scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing just two hits. His next scheduled start is this coming Saturday.

Ex-Met Michael Conforto of the still undefeated 7-0 Dodgers leads the majors in doubles with four.

Montero traded to the Braves

Rafael Montero is on the move to Atlanta.

The right-handed reliever and cash considerations were shipped to the Braves for the Astros in exchange for a player to be named later, whipping away a bloated contract from Houston’s payroll.

Before the trade, Montero had pitched four innings with a 4.50 ERA and five strikeouts in 2025.

Montero, 34, is in the final year of a three-year, $34.5 million contract that he signed with Houston during the 2022 offseason.

The hurler, who has been with Houston for five years, has put up a 4.92 ERA across 109 ⅔ innings since the deal was signed.

Thought this was interesting and unusual. The Cincinnati Reds have exMets at every level this season:

Reds - Collin Cowgill - First base coach

Louisville AAA - Reid Cornelius - Pitching Coach

Chattanooga AA - Mike Jacobs - Hitting Coach, Dick Schofield - Coach

Dayton High A - Willie Blair - Pitching Coach, Tim Peterson - Performance Coach

Daytona Low A - Willie Harris - Manager, Lenny Harris - Bench Coach

They have one player, Alex Young from last year in AAA. He’s not on their 40.

Cookie Carrasco off to a rough start in the Bronx, an ERA of 7.71 and topping out at 92 MPH on his fastball. The end is nigh methinks.

Meanwhile, Dom Smith toiling away for the Yanquis' AAA team at 1B, where he was spotted by yours truly at a Syracuse Mets game last week.

Glove tossing malcontent Jorge Lopez, now a National, bounced from yesterday's game for hitting a batter and then throwing at Andrew McCutchen's head. The next Nats pitcher subsequently gave up a grand slam.

He doesn't appear to be pitching that badly [3.43 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 10 G/8 Starts] but Taijuan Walker is being moved to the Philly pen - even though it was former Marlin Jesus Lazardo who gave up 12 ER on 12 Hits/3 BB in 3-1/3 IP on Saturday to the Brewers.
