Edgy MD Site Manager Posted Friday at 07:26 PM Posted Friday at 07:26 PM Tampa Bay Has Steven Matz 🧡🧡 out of 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 Freddy Peralta 🧡 Cedric Mullins 🧡 Milwaukee Has Gary Sanchez 𑣲 (half a heart) Daniel Vogelbach (coach) 🧡 Big Jim Henderson (coach) 𑣲 Not a lot of emotional connection there, but TB out-hearts Milwaukee, four hearts to two. Milwaukee is the NL team, but only because of a stupid flex by Bud Selig trying to prove he can make teams switch leagues. Tampa, as a franchise, has pretty much undisputably the least character of any MLB organization — despite a lot of success — and is near the bottom even if you measure them against all the major team sports, and that's due in large part to Tampa/St. Pete not really projecting much of a civic character. I'm sure people love it there, and probably for good reason, but to the rest of America, they kind of just give the impression that it's just a place where people live. I think I'm going Milwookie.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted Saturday at 01:57 PM Posted Saturday at 01:57 PM I had trouble rooting for Milwaukee even against the Dodgers. It feels comfortable to be rooting against them now. Rays Up! (Whatever that means)
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted Sunday at 12:15 PM Posted Sunday at 12:15 PM I like how both of these teams play baseball and run their organizations. I don’t know if I want to root for Tampa for showing the world how much we fucked up (or at least failed to get right) peralta… or not. I think I’m rooting for Milwaukee…
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted Sunday at 12:20 PM Posted Sunday at 12:20 PM This is the type of series when I find myself leaning towards whichever team is behind, either in games or within a game. Ultimately I'm going to side with Milwaukee at the end but it's not like I'm living and dying with each pitch. The only thing Tampa has traditionally had against it is occasionally bad uniforms plus a bad stadium (even before if half fell down). Hopefully the latter of those two gets corrected in the near future. The unis may take a bit more work.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted Sunday at 02:27 PM Posted Sunday at 02:27 PM Go, Brewers! I lean National League the vast majority of the time. Last year was an exception - Go, Jays! Milwaukee is about a five-hour drive from here and it's a nice city. I like going to Brewers games. It's a good park.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted Sunday at 06:14 PM Posted Sunday at 06:14 PM Been to Milwaukee and loved it. Been to Tampa and hated it. Go Brew Crew.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted Sunday at 06:15 PM Posted Sunday at 06:15 PM Milwaukee here too. It just feels like the more heartwarming story. But I'm good either way. I just want seven games.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago It's like my heart and Big Jim Henderson's are beating as one.
