NYM bats dented the decidedly below average Baltimore pitching for a grand total of six runs over 20 innings, and two of those were under Clown Car rules so don't really count. So four runs in 18 innings with no more than one run in any frame. Ain't gonna win games that way (even though they almost won both).

He is pitching slightly better in his last four starts than the current ERA of 4.88

The Orioles have been waiting for sometime for the highly regarded Coby Mayo to breakthrough and he is having a decent season to build on

It looks like Xzavion Curry (just recalled) will start for the Mets.

I watched the Angels and Mariners on Peacock last night. You chose the home or away feed and I more engaged than by anything ESPN has done of late

I far prefer the Peacock format than announcers from the ESPN stable

Monday was the game everyone picked to see Pete.  They got 35,800 on Monday night, which was the largest crowd since July and actually out-drew two of the games against the Dodgers (which were weekend games in the summer and not a Monday school night).

28,097 last night.  Probably will be a bit less tonight.

Of course I get the joke but this is actually Bassitt’s second contract since leaving the Mets.  After 2022 he signed a 3/$63M deal with Toronto:  

95 starts, 109 ERA+ in 540 innings; 4.8 WAR.  Not a bad signing at all.

Yeah, I always thought Bassett would have been a nice piece to keep around. Not an indispensable piece for sure, but a useful one that wasn't so easy to replace. Probably was tough to gamble on that kind of production from a 34, 35, and 36 y/o (and now 37) so one can understand moving on, but sometimes you need to take gambles and Bassett responded with 33, 31, and 32 starts for the Jays (tonight is his 17th of '26).
