Second straight game with three straight Chicago hits starting with two outs and none on. Last night the final two Cubs runs of the game came on a Double - Double - Double in the 8th inning. Today it's Single - Double - HR in a four pitch sequence.

- Friday v Philly: 2 of 3

- Saturday vs PHI: 10 of 15

- Sunday/PHI: 0/6

- Tuesday/Cubs: 6/9

- Today: 6/6

 

So that's 24 of the last 39 have come after two were out. (37% is MLB average). And in this series not only is it 12-of-15 but 8 of them have come only came after two outs and no one on.

Similar to the (lack of) clutch hitting from the Mets in the first half of last year, numbers like these are simply incomprehensible particularly since they're Not just limited to the recent small sample cite from the most recent five games.

the problem is both Mendoza and even Stearns are now operating as if every loss could be their last, it means they're making bad decisions for the fear of being exposed. 
Leaving McLean in is a good example of this from Mendoza, there's no bigger disaster for a manager then pulling the starter for the bullpen to implode, so you hope to just get one more out from him, one more out...
