OK, so it doesn't start until Friday. But starting the thread now gives me an excuse to tell you that today is the 50th anniversary of ...

Gotta love that the photog caught that little bit of the blur of the rising ball off C.F.'s left shoulder.

Also, for anyone not around/old enough to have seen that game at the time, it was already an ALL TIME GREAT GAME even before Fisk stepped up to the plate in the 12th. But, man, what a capper that AB turned out to be!

I didn't watch any of the NLCS or ALCS. Too depressing to watch other teams' fans still getting to enjoy their team play. Fuck all of those people.

Toronto and Seattle was an excellent series, watched most of it , rooting hard I think for Toronto here , but I guess mostly rooting for seven games

Friday, in Toronto, 8 PM, FOX

Blake Snell vs Trey Yesavage

Yesavage, who started the 2025 campaign in A ball, will be the second youngest WS Game 1 starter ever, bested only by Ralph Branca

Today's WS anniversary photo, 32 years ago in this case

If Joe Carter isn't throwing out a first pitch sometime during one of the first two games in Toronto (there's no guarantee there will be more than two) a criminal investigation is warranted.

I haven't paid much attention to the postseason except

for next-day highlights and recaps.

Blue Jays in five. Kappy says six, I say five...

Snell got out of the 1st scoreless. But after getting the first two outs quickly, the Jays made him throw a ton of pitches in order to squeak out with a zero.

And, although I already know the answer to this question: what's the point in having an hour-long pre-game show only to have another quarter hour of pre-game stuff once the supposed game time hits? First pitch was at 8:14

All that matters is that the Blue Jays won in awesome fashion. This is a class team that plays the game as it's supposed to be played. Take note overhyped and overpaid Mets.

I fell asleep during one of the pitching changes in Toronto's 9-run 6th.

So I saw them take the lead but ultimately missed the big fireworks which included the first ever WS PH GS (Addison Barger).

My wife just found out that George Springer was born in New Britain, CT, like she was. So she's now rooting for the Jays.

This is the first time I can recall we ever rooted for the same team.

Definitely. A Toronto win also has the added bonus of irritating the fat orange idiot.

Yes. If he attends one of the games, he would have to stand for the Canadian National Anthem. It could make his head explode.

Oh Wow! Came to this site to talk baseball and to get away from politics and Libtards. Only took one post to see the derangement. Please seek medical attention.

Game 2: Yamamoto vs Gausman

FOX, 8:something first pitch ... depending on how many promos the network has lined up and how much Smoltz has to say pre-game because he never gets a chance to talk during the game

I didn't realize that baseball games suddenly had Jonas Brothers concerts breaking out in the middle of them.

I think the last half inning ended like ten minutes ago and there's no sign of a new one starting anytime soon.

When I watch the Jonas Brothers' fake live performance, all I can think of is how that space could instead have been used to sell standing room tickets to actual Blue Jay fans instead.

I just rewound the 'tape' so as to check the time on that half-inning break: 8 FUCKING MINUTES!!!

That's twice as long as George Steinbrenner's 7th inning stretch dog and pony show during which no one is permitted to leave their seats.
