Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Now 4 back, and a win in the season series to claim the tiebreak should it matter.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Statement win. Good job McLean.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Mets now the same distance (4.0 G) behind the Phils (for NL East) as they are ahead of the Reds (for #1 WC - pending the outcome of their game tonight out west) and it's been a while since we've been able to say that.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Kinda feels like when Harvey came up. What an amazing start.

I'm missing the contextBohm was the one who complained about those parabolic mics out beyond the fence near the Apple that caused a 14 minute delay in the game during the opener on Monday.Met fans have been having fun with him ever since. It's a bit of forced 'hatred', but they're having fun with it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 btw, it is Just Now! the three hour mark since tonight's game started. Game Time = 2:13The first two games of this series took 3:11 & 3:13 so tonight was a very different game from the first two.Dodgers leading Reds 4-1 thru five. LAD just pulled Ohtani.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 Cincinnati lost. Mets are 4.5 ahead of them for final wild card spot.Mets are now also 4 back of the Cubs for the #4 seed.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 I attended this game---the energy was palpable. Not Gooden-era, but approaching Harvey/Syndergaard I would say.A 2;13 minute game---it almost took me that long getting to/from the stadium what with the Open next door. I saw a post about next year's schedule, where the Mets have a rare off day in Philadelphia on a Friday owing to a football game next door and the terrible parking situation (I think they share a lot?) but it would be good for the schedule makers to consider sending the Mets on a West Coast trip when the Open is in town: traffic was absurd.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 =Gwreck post_id=202621 time=1756394209 user_id=56]As for the Mets/Tennis: the biggest difference is that there is substantially better mass transit access in NY. Also, I think it unlikely that the Mets would agree to always going on the road for two prime weeks in August. They seem to always have the Mets on the road for one of the two weeks overlap with Tennis which seems a fair compromise. (Maybe it should always be the first week of the open).
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 I assume it has to be more people the first week because there are more matches, there are night sessions in multiple stadiums, etc.
