Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 David Peterson taking the bump tonight against a historically awful Rockies team. They are 9-47. Just for sake of comparison, at one point this year the Mets were 9-4. The stats on the 3 starters scheduled for Colorado this weekend are really impressive, in a terrible way.Friday: Kyle Freeland (0-7, 5.86 ERA, 1.68 WHIP)Saturday: Antonio Senzatela (1-9, 6.50 ERA, 1.94 WHIP)Sunday: Carson Palmquist (0-3, 8.78 ERA, 2.03 WHIP)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 That record that the White Sox set last year may not stand for very long at all.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Heavy rain and thunderstorms on the way. Get a lead early, hold it, and play fast.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Yeah, NOAA has a chance of showers this evening but now has delayed the heavy stuff until after 11 PM. So it's probably raining right now in Corona...

But Brett Baty has earned the right to play every day. An .889 OPS in May. He's had some good ABs against lefthanders too.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Let's get this in against this triple A team
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Taylor doesn't run to first, styling
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Peterson trying to be too cute. Just throw strikes.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Zimmo had perhaps his best series of the year against Chicago when he was moved to the two-hole, and I am kind of disappointed to see him back batting fifth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Cohen just outright dissed Mets sponsor Fanatic Sports Book.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Lindor Singles and scores from first on Soto's line drive double in the right-centerfield gap.2-0 Mets
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Marte still has some gasz in his engine.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 I'm becoming physically revolted by Alvarez at-bats. You don't want to look away because a moonshot could come at any moment, but it's absolute torture watching him fall behind 0-2 on a wild swing-and-miss and a down-the-middle called strike, then whiff or ground out to shortstop.DO BETTER
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Vientos strikes out for the third time tonight. At the end of 5 it's Mets 3 and the Rockies 0..

I am kind of feeling the same way about Vientos. While his swinging isn't as violently insane as Álvy's is, his decision-making is always off. He has whiffed thrice tonight, so I am guessing tonight is the nadir of his season.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Tovar matching Vientos K for K for the Rockies.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Peterson gets through 5.6 innings, then the wheels came off. Brazoban comes in and quickly ends the Rockies threat. Mets leading 3-1 going to the home half of the 6th.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Brazoban gives up a solo HR in the 7th to make it 3-2 Mets. The offense needs to torch this team. Time for some insurance runs to rebuild the lead.
