metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 I'm watching and Jeff Francoeur in on with Ron Darling, I can't believe it, and i had to look, but it was 2009 when Jeff was with the Mets. I think my disbelief is how fast the years are going by
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 We accidentally started watching this on tru tv. Very annoying
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 Yanx score 3 in the 3rd on a HR (Soto) plus three walks and two wild pitches. At least make them earn it!!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Bad job by Cleveland, but still not as bad as Luis Castillo.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Yeah, yanx have scored six runs so far in this series (10 innings) and have been handed half if them.Last night: walk, walk, walk, wild pitch, wild pitchTonight's 1st inning: 1st & 3rd, none out, dropped infield Pop up
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Both 'Aces' are now gone.Cleveland's Bibee doesn't last the 2nd, and Cole doesn't make it through 5 despite just one run allows so far. He does leave, however, with sacks loaded and one out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Guardians have closed to 3-2 but have left a small village on base thru 5 including them loaded in the 5th
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 How long can Holmes stay in for ?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Jazz Chisolm picked off 2nd in a crucial situation.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Come ON Cleveland don't do this
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 Have to say, this crew with Ron and Frenchy ,and Brian are good Cleveland up 2-1 through 4
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2024 Author Posted October 17, 2024 And Boone has the 'Bitching at Umpires' lead about 7 - Zip so far.He somehow got the umps to have a six-man confab in order to discuss a time violation on Juan Soto (it made the count 0-1). He then bitched about it all the way to the dugout and after that when they didn't reverse the decision. I have no idea what specifically the umps were discussing although I hope it was their post-game dinner plans.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 Go Guardians, I'm watching until Mets o'clock at least
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 Judge just hit a 2 run HR to tie the game of their closer in the 8th , a line drove to right that cleared the fence in about 2 seconds And now Stanton just homered
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2024 Author Posted October 17, 2024 The Cleveland closer, Emmanuel Clase, pitched 74 innings this season giving up 5 ER, 39 hits, and 2 HRs.Tonight he comes with 2 out and one on in the 8th and goes HR, HR, 1B before finally ending the inning.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Watched the replay of both late home runs. At least something good happened in baseball yesterday.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 There were also a few crazy plays, Cleveland effed up a rundown and Andres Gimenez and Naylor combined for this jawdropper
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2024 Author Posted October 18, 2024 I was on the Cleveland radio broadcast yesterday (right up until the 9th inning when the Met game started so I missed all the fireworks). Anyway, one of the Cleveland guys talked about how they couldn't use the language that Sterling had used to describe a Yanqui mistake from the previous game (i think it was also a pickoff). 'John can get away with that', he said, 'but we'd get fired'.Not sure what it was but that's gotta be on the internet somewhere.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2024 Author Posted October 18, 2024 The yanx aren't playing particularly well in this series. They've been picked off multiple times; Gleyber Torres failed to run on a 2-out 3-2 pitch and also didn't move on a bloop that fell for a hit in short RF.But the Guardians are rivaling the Metscfor RiSP ineptitude (at least prior to the late inning blitz yesterday) so the yanx were twice a batter away from a sweep.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Kay seems to be killing them over their baserunning.

They both need to come alive

These two old crustaceans
