Sunday, October 13:

Mets at SD/LA, 8:15 PM EDT

Monday, October 14:

Mets at SD/LA, 4:08 PM EDT

ALCS Game 1, 7:37 PM EDT

Wednesday, October 16:

SD/LA at Mets, 8:08 PM EDT

Game 4 and 5 start times will depend on who is playing. If KC wins, Mets will certainly be an evening start. If it's Mets/Dodgers, that may take the primetime spot away from CLE/DET vs Yankees.

So, local time, that's a 5:15 start for game 1 followed by 1:08 the next day.

I could go on about the idiocy of putting the weekend game on at night and the weekday game in early afternoon but common sense went out with wool uniforms and the Twi-Night DH

Essentially what they're doing with Game 1 is making sure that all the afternoon football games are over so they're competing with just one game for eyeballs instead of the last quarters of three of four at a time.

That's why it's 8:15 and not 7:00

And there's a decent chance you'll get one or two more. NL games four and five will coincide will AL games #3 & 4 so one or the other will get an earlier slot.

After that It depends on how long both series go since as soon as one series ends the remainder in the other will shift to all night games.

The 2022 LCS times suggest that Game 4 would be an evening game and Game 5 possibly a day game.

In 2022, the LCS matchups were PHI vs SD and NYY vs HOU; with the NL series starting a day earlier and on the West Coast — a close analog to what we get here.

NLCS Game 4, in Philadelphia, had a 7:45 PM Eastern start time, while Houston at Yankees got the early slot with a 5:07 start time.

NLCS Game 5, in Philadelphia, had a 2:37 PM Eastern start, with Houston at Yankees starting at 8:30.

A new twist thus year is that the start of the WS will be moved up if both LCS series end in five games or fewer.

As is, the WS is scheduled to begin on Friday Oct 25. But rather than have a long lay-off should the LCS series both end quickly, Game 1 will be bumped up to Tuesday the 22nd with the same 2-3-2 format to follow.

The schedule for LCS Game Fives, barring weather delays, is, NL: Fri Oct 18, and AL: Sat 19th

The both-LCS-finish at 5 games or under is a pretty rare occurrence, however.

Since the LCS was expanded to a 7 game series in 1985, there have only 5 instances in which both LCS finished in 5 games or fewer: 1989, 2001, 2002, 2014, 2022.

I'll just wait until the networks or whoever it is that decides when these games start announces when these games will start. Its the approach I'll take whether I'm gonna watch on TV or whether I decide to go in person. I can wait. But if I must divine in advance, maybe I'll ask Brian Ostrosser to whip out his Ouija board and give it a go. Who knows what he's liable to discover? It could be Thursday. Or Tuesday. Or halfway in between and a little to the left. Yes, the CS's could be clinched early, but there could also be rain outs to consider. Or the Martians could attack. The possibilities are infinite.

Did youse finally figure out when the games will be played? This is so confusing.

Aren't you the one who demands that game times be included in the IGT title?

I'm with you. I'll check the game time that day.

If it's inconvenient for me to watch I'll keep track on my phone.
