Long hot afternoon of grandkids' youth football (both teams won!) stopped for dinner and this game was on. Mets up 4-3 when we left and when we got home a few minutes later it was 6-6.

We'll get ‘em Tuesday!

Ultimately I do have concerns that this bullpen will keep us from making a deep run this year. The team has had to overcome bad performances by Diaz, Butto and Maton. And we don't even have a lefty to face Schwarber and Harper.

Stearns is just getting started. Hopefully our pen will be much improved next year.

Hope Gwreck gets out of there safely!

Already in New Jersey. There's something wrong with those people, though. They can't even be happy for their team without being angry at something else.

1. Just too much Diaz. He's thrown 130 pitches in the last week. His meltdown bothers me least. He needs Tuesday off, though.

2. Severino: I'm not too upset about Harper. You're up 3, he not the tying run, fine to challenge him I guess. Sometimes these things happen. BUT: you have to then adapt and change your approach to Castellanos.

3. Megill: you cannot walk Turner. Challenge him. Hell, if he hits the walk-off homer, oh well. But there were two outs and you have to make him swing the bat.

On the positive side:

The Phillies bullpen has been thoroughly exposed as unreliable and the Mets proven repeatedly that they can hit any of them.

Pressure remains on the Phillies more than the Mets. The one game the Mets come in with an advantage in starting pitchers.

Expecting a very good crowd at Citi on Tuesday.

Watched the highlights again just now, which are enjoyable as long as you close the window in the middle of the 9th. The clutch HRs are pretty great.

I checked and it's not Reyes.

Fox announcers keep saying, "Who's going to step up for the Phillies?" Maybe the answer is nobody.

Please let us know the answer

The two Mets who were younger than Vientos and had two or more extra-base hits in a postseason game are Michael Conforto, 2015 World Series Game 4, and David Wright 2006 NLDS Game 1.
