Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 Zack Wheeler is a tough opponent but I really am hopeful that the Mets can deny the Phillies the chance to celebrate an NL East title at Citi Field. Pack up your champagne and go drink it at your next stop, ya bums

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 The Mets bench is really thin on left handed bats, but I would give Winker the start at DH over Martinez. Wheeler is a tough assignment and Winker hasn't been hot of late, but Martinez looks absolutely lost and overmatched the past month (or more).
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Vientos needs a day imhoAcuna can play third so that's somethingI think we are going to see an abundance of mix and match todayLeading to a Mets win of courseWheeler Schmeeler, we have Tylord!!LGM

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 It seems like a long long time since Buck Showalter managed the MetsPossibly last game at Citified thisA win today would go FAR to ensure more games at Citified
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 If the Mets make the playoffs,, they'd likely have to advance to the Divisional Round to play more home games. Unless the Mets finish the season with the best Wild Card team record in the NL (the #4 seed), they'll be the road team for the entire best of three Wild Card round. Under the current playoff format, the higher seeds are the home teams in every first round game.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Game to start on ESPN2 (hope you didn't set to record on ESPN)btw, it's Fan Appreciation Day at CitiField, and to show you how much they appreciate you they moved it to a night game(and, yes, I realize that the Mets didn't do this but the result is the same)Oh, and Happy Equinox day

He has the arm and enough athleticism to play anywhere, and RF is much less demanding physically than short.
