Dylan Case vs. the Mets back on June 16:

Those two homers came from Mets homerun leaders Francisco Llindor and Pete Alonso. Luís Torrens took reliever Jeremiah Estrada deep to center later in the game.



Of course, he no-hit the Nats five starts back, but (a) he's been just OK since then, and ( it was the Nats. He walked three and needed 114 pitches to do it, but a no-hitter is a no-hitter.

Ever since the Mets got back into it, I thought this would be our "make or break" road trip. Unfortunately the Padres and DBacks aren't realistically in range right now. Even if we swept the Pads, we'd be a game and a half out. I guess it's still a big series in that we need all the wins we can get, and we're playing two teams that have been on fire.

Pretty funny that, for a few years, the Padres have had the lineup filled with converted shortstops at every position, but they have a 30-year-old rookie with no prior MLB starts going at shortstop tonight.
