Really happy to see Megill out there in the sixth, but I'm expecting he'll get yanked after a single baserunner.

Vientos hasn't seemed to be a problem at third. That was a good play!

Still doesn't always have the smooth movements you'd like to see, but he is less mistake prone than he was earlier so there's certainly progress.

... and, on cue, he's replaced for late inning defense to start the 8th.

To many light brown beards in the Mets' pen. I can't tell my guys apart.

I'm surprised to be writing this, but it would help if they had more tatts.

Alan Porter has been calling a terrific game.

So much for my Alan Porter Fan Club.

Who's more jacked, Porter or Jim Wolf?

Four walks in an inning is just unacceptable. If they hit their way on, OK. But you can't just hand it to them like that. They need bullpen help if they're going to do anything this year. Can't score 12 every game.

Not helping is that Gary starts almost every telecast by saying, 'The Mets could really use a lengthy outing from their starter today' ... and they rarely get one.

5 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks off the NYM pen

We, meanwhile, have one hit and one walk off of theirs.

Three good righty bats coming up against Hader [JDM, Pete, Alvarez]

That might have mattered more with only a one run deficit.

Well, looks like there won't be a need for a closer tonight unless some ninth inning magic happens.

They used four relievers in a 7-2 win yesterday., and were left with what we saw tonight.

The Astros came in as hot or hotter than the Mets. I had a notion that this series would come down to the last game.

What does that mean? That the winner of game three is gonna win the WS? That the loser of game three is gonna be relegated to the Brooklyn Cyclones league?

Megill punching his ticket back to Syracuse.

Just announced. Not just because it allows them to bring up a bullpen arm but because Butto/Scott both look like better spot start options five days hence.

I think you know what that means.

You're probably right. It means that you worked it out in your head that the two teams might actually split the first two games.

How impressive!
