Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Do NOT let these guys back in the game, Metsies.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Ottavino is a disgrace. I wasn't sure what he was doing in thus situation to begin with
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Squeaky Bum time with Judge up and the pond full of ducks.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Well, that escalated quickly.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Oh well, we still have an outside chance at winning this game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2024 Author Posted June 25, 2024 It's what we deserve when we're walking guys prodigiously with an eight-run lead.
Radar Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Boy Stearns put this bullpen together marvelously.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2024 Author Posted June 25, 2024 LeMahieu and Torres should be pulled for lack of hustle.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Gleybar Torres barely jogs to 1st ... LeMahieu swipes at a grounder.'Boonie' really has his team playing hard.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Just got a bad feeling about this.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit guzzling vodka straight out of the bottle.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 That game got way less fun down the stretch. Well a win is a win, but it certainly didn't end up being the laugher it once appeared destined to be.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Edgy MD wrote:LeMahieu and Torres should be pulled for lack of hustle. The fans of the two teams look at their cleanup hitters differently. Many Mets fans want to keep Alonso. But (looking at Facebook comments) the MFY fans all want to trade Torres. I haven't seen one post that said they should keep him. I guess his lack of hustle is obvious to them , but we don't see him every day.Later
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 SNY has a video of Michael Kay complaining about an ad that says that the Mets announcers (GKR)are better than he is.What a whining little snivel. Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Torres isn't really their cleanup hitter, just filling that role now with no Stanton and no Rizzo. But his main crime is that he's not hitting. Was terrific as a 21 & 22 y/o but he wasn't good enough defensively to stick at SS and his hitting has been only sporadically good since then to the point where he's currently in the midst of the worst season of his career [.215/.294/.333]For a guy who once slugged 38 HRs (2019) and is coming seasons of 24 & 25, that he's now on pace for 14 will get you on the bad side of fans even before you get to the whole lack of hustle stuff. A FA this winter and still only 27 y/o, but I wouldn't expect a long term deal although Javy Baez, his closest thru age 26 comp, got one ... so yaneverknow.btw, Javy Baez since leaving the Mets: .223/.264/.344 over 333 games and 1,333 PAs THAT is a lot of out making (and a lot of 3s!) and he's steadily gotten worse each year [currently .183/.209/.247* also, Gleyber is apparently dealing with 'a sore groin' although the YES booth to him to task for it also.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Catching up on games. That was rough! But we prevailed!
