Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 I see that the White Sox are currently riding a 13-game losing streak, bringing their winning percentage down to .242. (15 and 47)It always gets my attention when a team drops below .250. I'm not one of those fans who wants the Mets to retain their 1962 record. I'd love to see it broken, preferably by a National League team (so that they lose both the MLB record and the NL record, if such distinctions matter anymore).

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 The NY tv sports guys are making a big thing of the LAD/MFY series to played in the Bronx this weekend. An "epic battle".Insert hurl emoji hereLater
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Two of the top teams in baseball this year meeting for their only series unless they each make the World one, why not?... so of course tonight's game is exclusively on Apple+. Thanks Uncle Rob and owners!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Yanx/Dodgers, btw, scoreless thru 7Yamamoto is throwing a 2-hitterYanx are throwing a bullpen game and have themselves a 3-hitterThat pen menagerie includes 1.2 IP/1-hit from Michael TonkinNow that we've caught the Nats (not much of an accomplishment but it's something) I probably shouldn't be celebrating their win over the Braves, but why not? 2-1 tonight to gain a split in the first two games of that four-game series in DC

I'm sure a [CROSSOUT]small[/CROSSOUT] Large kickback was thrown Apple's way to make up for it.btw, Dodgers 2 - Yanquis 1 was your final, all runs scored in the 11th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Speaking of network broadcasting decisions, the MLB sked is cleared out in the 1:00 EDT time slot so as to make the London gamea stand-alone. I'm sure FOX wanted that desperately and maybe King Charlie III put in a request too.FOX is pulling triple duty today, going directly from the London game to the Belmont Stakes to, after a brief local news break, Game 2 of the NYY/LAD series tonight.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Another bullshit replay reversal in the NYY/LAD game.- 1st & 3rd, one out, Yanx batter called out trying to beat out a GiDP ball- Boone challenged and about 17 angles of replay were shown without a single one being anything close to 'definitive'- after more than three minutes of deliberation (and more than four minutes from pitch to pitch) the call was reversed which allowed a run to score and the inning to continue. But, remember, replay will only reverse obvious mistakes and it'll be decided quickly.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Braves win the first game of the series but then lose the next three to the Nationals.Atlanta 16 - 19 since May 1stJudge just homered for the 35th time in the last two weeks (or something like that).Actually 24 in 67 games, or a pace for 58Yanx 6 - Dodgers 4 heading to the 9th, trying to avoid a sweep.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 It's the top of the 9th in a two run game and ESPN is shrinking the screen for an interview with Judge!?!?!?!!?!?!!?!?!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Betts K's to end it.Dodgers take two of three.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Angels score twice in the 8th and twice more in the 9th to walk-off the Astros 9-7Houston sits at 30 - 36. Not the kind of territory they've been accustomed to lately.
