Welcome back to Starling Marte.

Nimmo gets a break against the lefty. Might have also been a good day to get Short a start (or, you know, Vientos), but alas.

Maybe it's a scheduling quirk, but I feel like we've been facing a tough pitcher every game except that bullpen game against SF.

Here are the starting pitchers we've faced since April 19:

The good pitchers. I've listed their ERA, plus their rank in the NL. Some don't have enough starts to qualify, so I put where they would slot in. Basically, Yamamoto's the shittiest of them. And he's trending up after a rocky start.

April 19. Yamamoto. 3.49 ERA (22nd)

April 21. Glasnow. 2.72 ERA (9th)

April 22. Winn. 3.18 ERA(14th)

April 23. Webb. 2.98 ERA (12th)

April 27. Gray 1.16 ERA (1st)

April 28. Lynn 2.64 ERA (8th)

April 29. Taillon 1.50 ERA (3rd)

April 30. Assad 1.97 ERA(6th)

May 1. Imanaga 0.98 ERA (1st)

The bad pitchers. Unfortunately one of the bad pitchers shut us down.

April 20 v. LA (Gavin Stone)

April 24 v. SF (Bullpen Game)

April 26. v. STL (Miles Mikolas)

So basically in our last 12 games, we've faced a top flight starter in all games but 3. That's some bad luck.

Well, there goes the suspense of a no-hitter by Butto.

Bruce Chen gets a mention from GKR. I can't believe it was 01/02 season he played for the Mets

The reason Jeff McNeil is doing better against lefties is that lefties can't make him chase the slider inside.

Booo! Double plays bad!!

In that brief argument clip we heard, Mendoza was arguing that the rule states the catcher can't stand on the plate.

I don't whether or not that's the way it actually reads.

I'm guessing the bench was empty?

Carlos sticking to his opinion in the press conference and not saying "oh well, it's one play" raises my opinion of him.

Oh geez, they're on a sucking streak that has no end in sight.

Can we bail on the Crooklyn-Nets look tomorrow and wear some

fucking Mets baseball clothing?
