Wheeler's dealin' and the Phightins are sluggin'

A leadoff single and nothing else for ARZ thru 4

But for Philly, HRs by Schwarber (1st pitch), Harper (1st pitch he saw), and Castellanos (the 5th in his last 9 ABs over 3 games)

4 - 0

The Phillies seem to be able to win while hitting nothing but solo HRs. Guess that's the difference between having good pitching vs our sub par pitching.

Actually it's amazing to think that the Phils only out-HR'd us by five this season. Of course tha didn't stop them from out-scoring the Mets by 79 runs ... but that's a whole 'nother issue.

Some red hot Paul Seawald 9th inning action for the DBacks facing 1-2-3 in a tie game (Schwarber, Turner, Harper)

Schwarber = FO

Turner = 5-3

Harper = ?

A four pitch pitch-around to Harper leads to Alex Bohm who, after a Harper SB, fouls off multiple foul balls before the third borderline pitch of the AB finally goes Seawald's way ... and we're going to bottom 9th

DBacks score off Kimbrel on a bases loaded single by Ketel Marte.

First Arizona post-season walk-off win since ... yup, THAT one.

Wow , back when we were all told we should be rooting for the Yankees 😂

Football players who've never been to a baseball game get great seats to the playoffs and have the good sense to appreciate what they're experiencing.

Tonight is a 'bullpen game' for both sides.

So it's top 5 in a 2-1 game and it seems like there's been about a dozen pitchers* so far.

oe: tied at 2

* only eight

And the bottom of the 5th brings pitcher #9

Had to cash it in after six last night and so just finished up catching up on the final three.

But even broken up like that this was one helluva fun game.

Particularly nice to see Kimbrel, and especially Alvarado, as the ones giving up the tying and winning runs in the 8th, to a couple of rookies no less.

Both games yesterday saw wins by teams down by two in the 8th

And the Phils will have two games to try and win one back in eastern PA starting Monday.

Wheeler was, once again, stellar tonight.

Torey Lovullo tempts fate by pulling very effective starter Merrill Kelly [1 R, 3 H, last 8 retired] after just five innings/90 pitches and a 4-1 lead.

He hasn't been burned by it yet (1 out/1on in the 7th) and the lead is up to 5-1 now, but the booth (and I) were all over the move and they've still got to get 8 more outs.

Let's go DBacks , great story , hoping they can win it all ( although I'd be cool with the Rangers winning)

Second game in a row where Alvarado has gotten dinged around (Good!).

Philly now going to Wheeler but, down two in the 7th, is it too late?

Do you remember Paul Sewald as a Met? I'm very glad for his successes but do you really think he's the shutdown closer you want in Game 7 with a two run lead?

I think the Diamondbacks are in a great spot but I am nervous for them.

Not only a Yuge out there (Duh!) but if the Snakes play their cards right they don't have to face Harper again.

With six outs to go not even Schwarber or Turner are guaranteed an AB

And we're about to find out about Seawald.

When he was here, he was called Paul Sewage. I guess he was able to work on his stuff when he moved away.
