Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Martinez (who just walked Vogie to pack the bases) is going to his belt a lot.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 And Marte chases the slider away as he is wont to do, and the 1-2-3 killz the Mets rally dead.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Marte in the 9th with the bases loaded twice in the last two weeks: K and DP.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 The pitcher walked two in a row, shouldn't you take a pitch?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I would've. But I don't shut up about guys needing to take.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Four hits for Álvarez!Take that, you Jasper!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Buck leaving Canha in to play third set up a good matchup this inning, but a swinging sac bunt is all he can effect.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 It's almost certain they won't do it, but the Mets now have the option of batting Baty for Pham against Honeywell.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 San Diego has four shortstops in their lineup, but the Mets' shortstop has outplayed 'em all.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Well, I apparently pissed off Manny Machado, because something happened while I was in the toilet.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 That also puts the Mets ahead of the Padres in the Wild Card standings, having already passed Pittsburgh and the Cubs during this streak.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Just watched the condensed game. Impressive clutch hitting in the 10th there to salt this away. Good remedy for the stupid ghost runner is to put up a four spot in the top of the inning. Then a two run dinger won't end things for you.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Nice night at the park. We were seated in the front row of the second deck, right opposite Pham. In the middle of a long, sold out row so getting up and down to pee or eat was a challenge but t he fans were great. The concessions are few compared with citi and less within reach so we did what everyone else did and ordered for delivery using the mlb ballpark app. Presto. They even delivered a beer. Our seats were cushioned and angled toward home plate, nice touch.Padres unis looked okay on the field but impossible to read the nameplates. Melvin looked like an idiot in a white sweatshirt.I don't know why the Padres don't win more often; they seem to have a good enough lineup except for catcher. They used too much bullpen last night and ran the bases like idiots, though.
