Álvarez bÁtting lÁst ÁgÁin as the Mets go with three consecutive lefty batters in front of him.

Houston, in contrast, has only one lefty in the lineup against Scherzer.

Even the camera guys are in a slump.

On both Lindor's HR and that FO by Tucker the camera shot is aimed at the second deck in RF

Yeah, those are not the live shots they should be using.

Scherzer, on the other hand, looks like the guy they are paying for.

It's pretty crazy how hard it has been for Buck to sit Pham down. Two weeks ago, they'd have put McNeil in left.

He's already stealing playing time from Canha, and now he's keeping Guillorme and Escobar out of the lineup.

He needs to go 8 tonight and save that hullpen

I'm just taking it one batter at a time. Win the game first and the bullpen will be fine.

And the shutout dies on that note.

"Hartwig's a great story. He went undrafted and he was going to go to med school. Then the Mets called and two years later, he's on a big league roster."

My God! Med school! Oh, cursed fate!

that fine, there are 6 runs on our side for once - he can go 9 and give up 2 and we'll be fine. just give the bullpen a break and build momentum here - a win and rested relievers is a great formula

So this Astros' sponsor OXY,

is that a gasoline, a laundry product, or have they taken it onto themselves to hawk addictive street drugs?

Get your bets in. Does Scherzer come out for the ninth?

If so, does he finish it?

looks like he won't. i dont love that, but assume he didnt fight too hard to stay in and knows better than we do

So unless this gets really bad in the 9th, Buck didn't use Robertson for a 2d inning yesterday so the BP wouldn't be further shorthanded tonight... and Robertson wasn't needed tonight.

Lindor just doubled off the wall on what i thought was an easy flyout
