The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Escobar with a seeing eye single than somehow alludes everyone. Plates Marte for a second Mets run.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 So the bullpen issues a 4 pitch walk to start the inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Thought he was out in live action, and now think so even more. And he is!!
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Realmuto did us a favor there trying to steal. Great catch and tag by McNeil.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 I feel like we got off a big replay review schneid there.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 a 400 foot out for Alvarez, he looks good up there. have we seen the end of Nido?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 No, Nido probably starts one of the next two games.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 I thought Robertson would try to get Clemens on a ball out of the strike zone ... but Clemens would probably just throw the bat at it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Shouldn't Harper be coming off the bench here?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 David Robertson was on the mound when the Mets completed their big comeback against the Phils — the one they showed in the opening featuring two Canha homers. Here's to him giving more to us tonight than he was able to take from us last season.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Wow, the post-game is over at 10:17! Senga! Say it with me...
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Senga was a total badass hereWasn't sure he had it in him, he did
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 At the risk of getting ahead of future events here at the CPF, The Post wins the day with the headline but then ruins the cover with not one but two descriptions, especially the one in teeny-type over his right shoulder, and then squeezes in Piazza's appreciation of Alvarez, two NYY stories, and a Knicks story. Who needs the rest of the sports section when you can read everything on one page?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 If you're under 50, does KODAI CHROME make any sense/have any resonance? That asked, I'm probably still giving The Post the win there, whatever the answer.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 KODAI CHROMEMakes you think all the world's a sunny day(I see the Braves and Marlins both lost in Cali)

Quite a few of the area high schools still have a working darkroom that the kids use.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Has Kodachrome film been reintroduced? I had thought production was discontinued in the aughts or something.I am indeed heartened to hear of a revival of film-based photography.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2023 Author Posted May 31, 2023 Pretty calm night at the ballpark. Sat in right field completely out of sight of the gigantic scoreboard. Neighbors were well-behaved except for a doofus in an Aaron Judge jersey who was kicked out of our section for some infraction we didn't see.Castellanos made a good catch on Nimmo but maybe an even better job of cutting off Marte's hit an inning or two earlier. That happened right in front of us and it was impressive as that ball looked to be destined for the wall but he expertly backhanded it on a run. I've come to enjoy baseball for little displays of skill like this. I think Castellanos has a bad rep on D even, but he made 2 good plays. It wasn't good viewing on Senga but he definitely had the Phils Phlailing. We wondered why they didn't bring up Harper in the 8th with a chance to tie or in the 9th.Game over at 9:35, home shortly after 10.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Johnny Lunchbucket wrote:We wondered why they didn't bring up Harper in the 8th with a chance to tie or in the 9th.There were two real opps for PH'ing Harper - Realmuto walks to start the 8th ... but then immediately gets CS with Bohm at the plate and I don't think Bohm is the guy you want to PH for anyway. If either or both are still on after Bohm's AB then I'm sure we would have seen Bryce then. .. but they weren't. - if (whichever rhyming K.) Clemens got on to start the 9th then that's the logical spot. But he K'd so NYM nemesis John Harrison PH'd for the 9-spot cuz now it's not the tying run. Once Harrison got on they could have used him but at that point you'd be PH'ing for one of the top of the lineup guys (Stott, T. Turner).I suspect by then Robbie Thompson is hoping somebody will tie it (or go ahead) and then he'd have Harper in reserve for the 10th when the lower lineup would be due.The Philly lineup is definitely shorter and less scary without Harper and Rhys Hoskins
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 That was the first win on a Tuesday this year.Kudos to the Tuesday Night Club for bringing this home for us.Later
