Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 Getting a third scoreless inning out of Jimmy is totally a yaca-bonus.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Jimmy is happy that he helped the team
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 Keep playing Pham toward the gap, Tiggs.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Tyler Alexander has a master Pornstache
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 Mets lucky Vierling didn't get two bases out of that pop single.A lot of that luck was McNeil's hustle, though. And as I type, Vierling steals the base anyhow.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 more like SNOT-a-Vino, amirite??!?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 Well, that's a kick in the gut.Too much plate to start off a DH, Otto. Situation called for a pitcharound.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 The major crime in that inning was plunking Baez with a 1-2 pitch (the 0-2 pitch was poor too).Other than that, the mis-played bloop in RF set it all up.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Jimmy doesn't like getting screwed out of a win
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 This game could use a bit of Locastro Factor.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Nice AB by B.B., 'specially after whiffing on that curve in the dirt.Meanwhile, dangerous batting Vogerbomb when a GiDP ends the game.

Tamora Verified Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Ooof that sucks. Might be a good time to drop the habit of giving up multiple runs in the first couple of innings before game 2.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 The baseball Ferris wheel looks pretty cool.
Tamora Verified Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Everyone enjoy the second game and I hope we split the day, I'll listen tomorrow.Let's go Mets!

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Looking back on his numbers, you're probably right.Later

The point is that, once down 0-2, there's no reason to throw Baez a strike since he's so prone to chasing. The problem was that Adam O's next two weren't sharp, the first was so far outside even J.B. wouldn't chase and the other so far inside that Houdini couldn't have avoided getting hit. He needed better 'bad' pitches there but didn't make them. Maybe that's the result of a week off caused by multiple rainouts, or maybe not. But that, combined with the poorly played bloop, paved the way for the killer two runs in an inning where the Tigers hit exactly one ball hard. oe: cross-posted with Edgy Edited May 3, 2023 by Guest

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Moves I didn't like:Not hitting Vogelbach for Canha in the 9th. Getting first runner on is of paramount importance in the 9th inning, down 1 run situation, and therefore the best on-base guy was needed. What about Nido, then, due up third? There was still a full bench with Alvarez, Guillorme, and Escobar. And who would hit there would certainly depend on what the first two batters had done.“Saving” Vogelbach for Nido's spot was dumb.
