Elieser Hernandez gave up two runs tonight. He's not doing well and that's leaving a Trevor Williams-size hole in the bullpen.

Early indications from the Mets seem to be that Megill is in the driver's seat.

Mets Roster Central was thinking Peterson was out of options, but he doesn't appear to be at all, not appearing in the minors in 2021 OR 2020.

Look for Fboy and I today on SNY about 9-10 rows behind the plate. He's got a Mets blue shirt on with a big NY logo and I'm rocking black with the Mr. Met as the MLB logo.

This is of course once we get through a big shit show or trying to park

I see you! Choice seating.

I have that tee shirt you're wearing but in blue lol...

And that's five runs in the first for the Fman-aided Mets, including an inning cycle — leadoff homer from Danny Mendick, a double by Luis Guillorme, two singles by Marks Cahna and Vientos after a pair of groundouts by Starling Marte and Danile Vogelbach, and a two-run triple by D.J. Stewart.

The guy behind Fman in the red jacket-or-cardigan and his companion in the blue top are doing a lot of Met-inspired smooching. Good on them.

So KB walks into the room and I hit pause. There's like thirty seated fans

on the screen...

KC: Friend from the asylum is at this game.

KB: Cool!

KC: The guy that lives in *********.

(our former sister-in-law lives in ********* too)

KB: Ok, which one is he?

KC: You tell me!

KB: This guy.

KC: Wow!

KB: They look like New Yorkers.

Two lessons from the top of the fourth:

  • Luis Guillorme's baserunning intuition isn't that strong.

  • Daniel Vogelbach has shed some weight since last season.

Packy Naughton went to Boston Latin, first public high school in the United States. Cotton Mather graduated in the class of 1669!

I don't know, he still looks pretty huge to me waddling down to first.

Mets pulling the pitcher and then putting him back in the next inning.

I've seen hitters exit and reenter, but I can't recall ever seeing a pitcher do it.

Cool, cloudy and breezy day at Clover Park but a lot of good things happening. Never saw a player hit for the cycle live before.

Also bumped into Terry Collins in the 7th inning and grabbed a quick selfie with him. Nice man. Viewable on my IG page

Today is a day off and then the final 5 games of Spring Training:

Wed, Mar 22 vs Houston 1:10 PM

Thu, Mar 23 @Atlanta 1:05 PM

Fri, Mar 24 @Tampa Bay 1:05 PM

Sat, Mar 25 vs St. Louis 6:10 PM

Sun, Mar 26 vs Miami 4:10 PM

The home games are on SNY. The road games can be found on mlb.tv (free). Gelbs and Blevins will do the SNY game on Wednesday.

Buck is pissed that the last game is against the same team that the Mets open the season with the following Thursday. He has already had to move regular starters to minor league games (and will again on Thursday) to avoid having Mets' starters face NL East opponents. Pete, Jeff, and Adam return on Thursday, giving them 4 games to re-learn the new rules. Jeff won't travel on Thursday and Friday (he's barely played in the WBC--what a waste of time) so he will be with the minor leaguers.

From this past Sunday. Great vantage point to watch from. We enjoyed watching just how far breaking pitches were breaking, especially as thrown by righties as they broke towards us.

Dayumm, great seats homie. You have the smile of a dude on vacation with his family watching baseball. Fboy has the "we left the hard rock cafe early for this?" look on his face.

We were in town for my mom's memorial service, which was Saturday evening. We flew in Friday and home Monday, so that left us with one day to have a bit of fun in Florida. My wife and daughter opted for shopping at a big outlet mall. My son and I opted for baseball, naturally.

That's not a great capture, he had a big ol grin on his face for the majority of the game. This was my early birthday gift to him as he turns 18 on Friday.

The guy to my son's left, and his wife, were some serious Jersey people. I told the guy he looked and sounded like he just rolled out of the Bada Bing club. He paused for a good 8-10 seconds and then went, "OK, enough of that." They were great.
