We hope that Quintana got that outing out of the way.

He's on a two-year deal with a lot of depth behind him. He's probably not going to get a chance to do too much damage if he doesn't perform well.

Thrills in Bradenton today as the Pirates hosted the Orioles. With Pittsburgh ahead, and the game seemingly over after the top of the ninth, both teams elected to play on through the bottom of the ninth to get their players the work. In the short time it took to decide this, however, Chad Fairchild's umpire team had left the playing field. So the two teams played baseball exactly the same way it's played in Heaven — with no umpires, calling their own balls and strikes and outs and safes.

Somehow, the world kept turning.

Showing how no umpire is better than Angel Hernandez.

If Tim Locastro had even a modicum of power, he might have a good shot to come North with the team after ST. Right now, he has Tommy Pham looking over his shoulder.

Another home run for Ronny Mauricio. I'd like to see him get some work in the outfield.

I'm going to sound like and asshole here but something about David Wright turns me off (and I think always has )

Is Vogelbach even larger than last year, or is it just the Fla cameras?

The general nature of these pre-game, interview-heavy broadcasts is terrible.

Forget the fact that athletes aren't the most articulate bunch, and that they throw a lot of platitudes out there, but it makes it impossible to multitask and follow the game. I know the games don't count, but I still need to be able to get things done during the broadcast. And you can't passively watch the game and try to get by on listening to the play by play when the announcers are skipping all of the in-game action to talk to players and coaches and retired players.

It stinks.

Like many other teams, the Mets have two games with WBC teams this week. The WBC operates under 2022 rules but the Mets need to know the 2023 rules. I'm guessing that there won't be a pitch clock and the smaller bases will be used but will Buck ask his players to make believe the rules exist even if the other team is not using them (if that's even possible)?

You guys aren't gonna rest 'til Wright bangs a 16 year crack whore with 2/3's

of a bottle of Wild Turkey in him in a van under the Grand Central Parkway

and gets busted by five-o. Are ya.

Well this thankfully never came to fruition.

Fuh yeah!

I'm totally on the Vientos bandwagon these days. It's Baty this and Baty that and I don't think Vientos is in any hurry to cede the floor.

That
second one nearly cleared the batters' eye at the Marlins spring training park. Quite a shot.
