After the Otto and Robertson deals, this seems redundant. The story doesn't say who the Sox might want in return, but I would not want to see Baty or Vientos or Cookie go out for him.

There was a rumor yesterday pre-Otto (as referenced in that thread) that we should now explore. He has a couple years and some money left on his deal, but the particulars of those don't matter in the least, dear reader.



Pros:

1) He's Australian which is undeniably fun

2) He's cusses like SO MUCH when he pitches which is as hilarious as it is awesome

3) He's a staunch https://www.outsports.com/2022/6/15/23168732/white-sox-pitcher-liam-hendriks-pride-night-contract-negotiations-lgbtq-allyLGBTQ+ ally, which is needed on the pitching staff now to counter Brooks Raley's ass

4) He's good at pitching baseballs and can be another elite, high-leverage, end game reliever

Hendriks is under contract for two more years. Reinsdorf is one of the owners that voted against Steve so I don't know if he wants to do business with the Mets but if he is willing, Vientos and Escobar should get it done... and they have to take McCann back (where he was successful but they'll want the Mets to eat some of his contract).
