A 4:07 start in Oakland. Hopefully, the Mets aren't psyched out by the sun after yesterday's fiasco. Max Scherzer takes the mound for the Mets. He's awesome, as you know. JP Sears (LHP) is pitching for Oakland. He pitched 5 shutout innings against SEA in his last outing. Let's put Sears out of business!

I have to say that watching the outfielders fight the afternoon sun in Oakland the last few days really gives me a 1973 series vibe.

With two out in the 9th, Schwarber walks and is pulled for a pinch runner.



If there were no outs, sure. But 2 outs and taking his bat out for extras is curious.

Lugo struggled, but he eventually closed out the 9th.



The Mets really needed a laugher. Now if the Phillies can miraculously get it done in the bottom of the 11th.
