Isn't there some sort of record streak deGrom had been riding for most consecutive starts with three or fewer runs?

Are you being facetious or are you not watching the broadcast where Gary and Ron have mentioned this umpteen times?

It hadn't been mentioned at the time I wrote that comment, but I think there was a delay in submitting.

My apologies.

Nothing to apologize for, I just wasn't sure if you were making a joke.

6 - 3 in Cobb County.

One on, two outs in the 7th as the Braves go for a pitching change.

So there's at least hope for One comeback this afternoon.

Rhys Hoskins up as the tying run ...

Just hit a screamer past the LF foul pole, foul by maybe two feet.

And then he Ks!

6 - 3 going to the 8th

That was, quite simply, an 'everything that could go wrong did go wrong' kind of day.

We thought Pete's 1st inning HR was going to be the opening highlight of the day, not the final one.

Phils go quietly in the 8th.

Going to need at least three in their final AB and are going to have to do it starting with the bottom of their order.

Pitchers are going to give up runs, it happens. I guess in that sense probably best that they all do it on the same day and in the same loss.

Have to like the pitching matchup from the Mets perspective. DeGrom is, well, DeGrom. He's the best. Waldichuck is inexperienced and has been shelled regularly in his 4 previous career starts.

This is no time for the Mets bats to go silent and make Waldichuk look like the second coming of Randy Johnson. They need to poor it on and knock him out of the game early as in all of his previous starts.

I forgot to take into account that DeGrom is indeed human. Though it started nicely, this game definitely go as I anticipated.

I was working and didn't see the game. Someone (elsewhere) commented that Hernandez wasn't giving Jake the low strike and it seemed to throw him off.

Is that true?
