Cole Irvin, 28, former 5th round pick of the Phils in 2016 out of U-Oregon (He's a DUCK!!)

Full time starter last two years. Low K-rate for this era, but also low BBs, low H/9, good WHIP (1.1) league avg ERA

Never heard of him prior to this moment.

I wonder if they'll go Ruf or Vientos against the "low K" lefty?

Without seeing the FB/GB splits, I take those numbers to mean hitters make contact, but aren't getting good swings against him.

Maybe a funky delivery? (I've never seen him, either)

Nimmo is fine but I'd still rest him, and McNeil, on Friday, if possible. The Mets might see 3 LHPs this series. Bassitt's gonna be so excited for this one, he might pitch a no-hitter.

Checking to see if the lineup had been posted, I stumbled over the alleged lineup from the last time the Mets played the A's (7/23/2017):

  1. Michael Conforto, lf

  2. Curtis Granderson, cf

  3. Jay Bruce, rf

  4. Lucas Duda, 1b

  5. T.J. Rivera, 2b

  6. Jose Reyes, ss

  7. Wilmer Flores, 3b

  8. René Rivera, c

  9. Rafael Montero, sp

In case you're wondering what other Metly thing you can do while waiting for the game, Francisco Alvarez isn't in the starting lineup for Syracuse. So you may have to re-run an old game.

I remember back in the day when dad and I would watch these late games…start at 10, over by 12:30…up for school, up for work…mom would do her best to stay up with us but would bail by midnight.

God I miss it

Nice to see that Oakland has Stephen Vogt back (I don't recognize any other names in that lineup).

I mean, yeah, he's 37 y/o and isn't hitting worth a damn, but he was very popular there during his first go-around on the East Bay.

Sean Murphy, the OAK C, can hit.

Gary said that the Mets haven't been to OAK in 8 years... and they will be there in the last full month of this regular season and again in the first full month of the next regular season.

Baltimore is awfully close to Oakland. Makes sense.

It's unacceptable! It's a travesty! I KNOW people!

I DEMAND to be mollified!

Meanwhile, I know I shouldn't be surprised that McNeil and Nimmo are both in the lineup, but ... WOW! McNeil and Nimmo are both in the lineup!!

Call and/or get on line w/MLB.com

That's gotta be a mistake and they should be able to fix that.

Clearing the cache on the browser might help too.

Why not just watch it on SNY. TV? I'm in Green Bay, WI and I'm watching on my laptop.

That reads like you're reminiscing about your years of juvenile delinquency.

Just remembering that a lot of foul ground was more common back in the multi-purpose stadium era.

Seeing if I can access over there. Grooving to "Livin' in America"!

On with Tech Support Cassandra NOW!!!!

Cassandra breathes heavy. It was so distracting and sensuous that I almost forgot my zip code. Now she's got me on hold again, and I'm "Running Down a Dream"!
