Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Not getting a lot of borderline calls the last two half-innings, are we?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Who is Tyrone Taylor? And why is he doing bad things to the Mets?Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Dr. Smith, you are needed stat!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Well that kinda suxx!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Double disaster there? Did McNeil aggravate his injury in a failed attempt to catch that grand slam?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 It looks like the Magic Number will be spending the night in North Carolina.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Not looking like Buck's strongest game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 When Gary was talking about how good Drew Smith was prior to his injury, he failed to mention his propensity for giving up gopher balls.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Time to empty the bench so no other starters get hurt.Later
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Did the Mets' celebratory hangover game skip a day?
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 I don't even know what happened yet, but 6-NOTHING??Picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Gonna be a rough 11 game roller coaster ride I'm afraid.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Well that sucked. I evaded the worst of it by leaving for a bike ride and missing it go from 1-0 to 6-0

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 It's healthy to expect them all to be tough.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Marte isn't ready to return but it might be time to end the Vientos trial run. I don't who else to call up but Vientos isn't ready. Hopefully, Marte will be ready a week from Friday.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 All 3 Oakland starters are lefties this weekend, ruling out Dom Smith.I don't think there is anyone else on the 40 man roster who hits right handed. Ronny Mauricio is a switch hitter but better hitting lefty.I think you start Ruf and hope for the best? Agree that Vientos looks overmatched/not ready.j

It never was. Ray Culp won 122 games. It's healthy to expect them all to be tough.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Culp was 41-41 against everyone else in he NL, but 10-2 against the Mets. His lifetime NL ERA was 3.68 but 2.59 against the Mets. He was the first example I thought of. I was in the Army with a virulent Phillies fan, and he tormented me about how the Mets couldn't beat Culp and Larry Jackson.I you're taking about mental health, I'm crazy about the Mets.Later Edited September 21, 2022 by Guest

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Good lord, someone was better against thei mid-sixties Mets than he was against the rest of the NL as a whole?!?!?Well That certainly proves a trend that's relevant six decades later!
