And that's everybody!

George Stone is the only player to have started one and only one postseason game for the Mets, although I much fear that Max Scherzer (and perhaps Bassitt or Carrasco) may be also end up in this category.

Stone also joins Cone as the only pair whose names rhyme, unless you want to try "Reeder" and Ojeda.

The Mets have played postseason games against 13 different teams, with 16 teams that they haven't faced. Possible first-time opponents this year are the Phillies, Padres, Brewers, Blue Jays, Mariners, Guardians, Rays, and White Sox. Possible repeat foes are the Cardinals, Braves, Dodgers, Yankees, Astros, and Orioles.

Here are the teams the Mets have played:

Arizona Diamondbacks (1999 NLDS win)

Atlanta Braves (1969 NLCS win, 1999 NLCS loss)

Baltimore Orioles (1969 World Series win)

Boston Red Sox (1986 World Series win)

Chicago Cubs (2015 NLCS win)

Cincinnati Reds (1973 NLCS win)

Houston Astros (1986 NLCS win)

Kansas City Royals (2015 World Series loss)

Los Angeles Dodgers (1988 NLCS loss, 2006 NLDS win, 2015 NLDS win)

New York Yankees (2000 World Series loss)

Oakland Athletics (1973 World Series loss)

San Francisco Giants (2000 NLDS win, 2016 Wild Card loss)

St. Louis Cardinals (2000 NLCS win, 2006 NLCS loss)

NEW QUIZ

There are seven players who have appeared in more than one postseason series against the Mets.

One of them is in the Hall of Fame.

Two of them have appeared on multiple Hall of Fame ballots, but have not been selected.

Two of them are former Mets, neither of whom ever appeared in the postseason as a Met.

None of them were 1969 or 1973 opponents.

They have all been selected to at least one All-Star team.

Usual guessing rules apply.

Correct! I had completely forgotten that. Even with the reminder, I still have forgotten that.

1. Jim Edmonds (2000 and 2006 Cardinals)

2. Greg Maddux (1999 Braves, 2006 Dodgers)

Yes to Clemens, Kent, and Drew.

I think Clemens is the only one I would have gotten on my own.

1. Roger Clemens (1986 Red Sox, 2000 Yankees)

2. Jeff Kent (2000 Giants, 2006 Dodgers)

3. Jim Edmonds (2000 and 2006 Cardinals)

4. Greg Maddux (1999 Braves, 2006 Dodgers)

5. J.D. Drew (2000 Cardinals, 2006 Dodgers)

Two more: One is a former Met, and one is not. Both were 2006 Dodgers.
