Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Sweet DP. Now score runs.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Lead off beaning followed by obligatory pan to Buck.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 If you're trying to avoid killer GIDPs, you'd probably choose to send up McNeil and Lindor up to do it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Eighth inning. Not sure Naquin should be batting here, but I'm not sure what alternatives are available.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 They're going to have to do it in the 9th with the bottom of the order.

One wonders about bench construction…
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 So this easy schedule thing is working out well. The Braves have to be laughing themselves silly.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Joely Rodriguez, in a word, sucks. Not getting one or two competent lefty relievers is one of the big failures this year.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Author Posted September 9, 2022 What's with the slanted knob on Darin Ruf's bat?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 It's a thing now. A lot of Mets players are rocking the slantknob.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 That was a Casey Stengel pitching change."I'm not tired, Buck.""Well, I'm tired of you"
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Don't swing at the first strike when the tying run is behind you in the ninth.A recording offered as a public service.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Would have been nice to see Vientos at DH instead of Ruf and Vogelbach flailing and failing these past few weeks. This team is Archie Bell and the Drells.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I think that JD Davis has 4 HR for SF and Ruf has 4 hits for the Mets. Great job, Billy. That might have been the most tedious, most frustrating game of the year.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Yeah, we just got out hit by the worst hitting team in the league, they had more XBHs than we had hits, our starter sucked and we hit into two killer GIDPs.But, what the hell, let's convince ourselves that it's all Joely Rodriguez's fault.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Yeah, every bullpen has a guy having a lesser season than the other guys, and he becomes a lightning rod. But they were behind when he came into the game. The whole bullpen was available. If everybody (or even half of everybody) else gets their job done, Rodriguez never sees this game.Anyhow, I support him and his right to have DNA.

It was a blast.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I think we see Vientos by the time this series is out.Although, a problem is that he hasn't seen any outfield time this season. He played a dozen games there in 2021, but maybe that was enough to convince them that he couldn't cut it.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Here's some video footage of it. Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 That's gorgeous. And if he can't play outfield, McNeil or Escobar can.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 Braves win. Mets in second place
