Kind of crazy that while the Mets outscored the Phillies 7-0 over the last two games, the Phillies starting pitchers win on innings pitched 14-11 (with all the runs charged to the starting pitchers, too).

So just finished watching via delay (without knowing the result ahead of time).

After the Mets took the multi-run lead I found myself rooting increasingly hard for the shutout. Normally it's, eh, a 6-0 win vs a 6-1 win, no biggie.

But I got real tied into maintaining the Zero to the point where I almost resorted to FF'ing through the Mets half innings in favor of watching the top

halves of innings only (I didn't, but was tempted).



So completing it not only left the Phils at just two runs for the series but it was one in the very first inning of the series and the other via the clown-

car rules. So even as frustrating as the one loss was, slamming it shut since then feels like a bit of retribution especially as it came while facing

Nola and then Wheeler.

Pitching this weekend was exceptional. Lots to like.



This is Escobar's chance to shine. They signed him to play every day at 3B and I think he will likely get another shot at that. That, or Canha will get more reps over there

Problem is Escobar is hurting and if he really starts playing evuhday, it's going to be at half speed for a bit.

Was at the game with my daughter-- great crowd, lots of energy. I remember going to games as a kid and the food was awful-- cold hotdogs and soggy pretzels. Remarkable how much better the fare has gotten. They really need to get rid of those auto shops, though.
