Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 This was exactly what we had to do, take a perfect homestand with us to this scary West Coast swing
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 What a game and homestand.Mets seem more "put together" under Buck.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 The Thomas Nido Game.I'm not sure how these things go — can a single guy have two eponymous games?Because http://phpbb3.leaptoad.com/mets/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=29598Tomás already has one. Same opponent, too!http://leaptoad.com/mets/scorecard_graph.php?game=9373&font=1>
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Observations from the first time I've been to Citi since 2019:Bunch of asshole Nats fans and one drunken Met fan, obnoxiously loud to the point where an usher actually came down to tell them to shut up. It gets old fast when someone yells that every pitch is a strike, even the ones that bounce. But when Nimmo came up they started shouting 'Let's Go Brandon!' like it was the biggest inside joke on the planet.Food good but jeez is it overpriced. Buffalo chicken mac and cheese was pretty damn good, though.$30 to park. I know the Jets are $50, but I guess Cohen needs to pay for those free agents somehow. And those wonderful new screens they gushed about just display ads nonstop. It was like playing in Draft Kings Stadium. Seaver statue was awesome in person, but it's impossible to get a good picture with it because of crowds and the fact that people sit all around the base without moving. As always, ear-splitting music between innings except when they're playing a stupid game. Actual trivia question: Who was the manager of the '69 Mets?Nats have the look of a team that's mailing it in. Which is okay right now. 6-0 homestand is awesome and it's nice for them to be firing on all cylinders heading to the west coast.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Just finished watching the recording. Good win all around. Beat up the bad teams, that's how you win pennants
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 I had the Buffalo Mac last night too. Tasted good, hard to mix the blue cheese on top in without it spilling, so you wind up eating blue cheese then the mac

Still pretty good, and goes well with a Coney Island Pilsner.

Same opponent, too!as Buck pointed out in the post game...Nido won a batting title in the minors, so he's not concerned about whether he can hit...I don't know if he actually won a hitting title, but in 2016, he hit .320 with a .816 OPS

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Felix seems to be laughing at the projectability of the Nido's 2016 Florida State League batting average.
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 What was his BAbip in 2016, I wonder? And I wonder if Buck's just blowing smoke here, or if he believes a 6 y.o. minor league BA is meaningful. I'd have more respect for him if he was just BSing the media here.
