Will miss everyone by a day or two, going on the 7th. My out-of-town

homeybro wants to take me to a game for my birthday and that's the only

weekend we can do it.

Sorry, to clarify, had the dates crossed. Fboy and I will be there on Wed Aug 10. If you're at the Citi that day, give me a holla

Is Citi Field still cashless?

So with the US Open going on next door, just how early should I be aiming to arrive at Citi Field?

My experience is is doesn't matter. Subway will just be more crowded and

have way more wealthy white people on it than usual.

Looks like game is 1:40, US Open has rounds at 11, and 7pm. Depends on how early you'd like to be there. The traffic from the US Open should be minimal. The US Open site says they won't be parking people in the Citi Field lot that day, but that's only for people that listen to the people directing traffic, which has always been the WRONG thing to do in the 25 years I've been driving to Mets games. But, that should mean minimal people parking in the Citi lots, so it should be somewhat normal, if you can, enter/exit on the Shea Rd site, not the Roosevelt Av side, and know where you need to go to get away from the stadium when you leave, because the people directing you are idiots and you can easily end up literally just circling Citi Field.

Don't forget to check out the Seaver statue, you can probably ignore the Wilpon Ebbs Brewery and just go in. The good beer is still mostly at Empire State craft type places, field level by the foul poles.

I need to pop over there for another game at least before the playoffs. running out of time.

Wild Card tickets went on sale Tuesday morning at 10. To my surprise, tickets are still available for Games 2 and 3. (Didn't check Game 1.) Got tickets for me and my two kids for Saturday's Game 2. Surprisingly easy! What's up with that? The last time I tried to get postseason tickets was in 2006 and I had to enter a lottery or something.

They finally found the sweet spot of "so ridiculously expensive that they don't sell out until the last moment, extracting every last possible cent"

Also with 4 rounds, and no one really expecting this one, I suspect a lot of people just figured they'd aim for another round. I did some budgeting and decided if I'm gonna splurge for one game, it'll be the World Series this year. too much going on personally.

They have increased the cost of single-game postseason tickets substantially. Supply is also up with the extra round.

In an effort to incentivize full/partial season ticketholders, the playoff tickets sold to them are heavily discounted.
