Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Can't get Jankowski into the lineup. Can't get Guillorme out.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 I am hopeful Taijuan can have a decent outing today. It is far too early into the season to have him and Megill become ineffective.Pat Mazeika may be back up in short order.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 If they're going to walk the ballpark, you gotta cash in, especially early. Nice hit by Canha in a big spot. 2-0 good guys.
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Kinda wish Buck would figure out if McNeil belongs at the top of the lineup, or Marte does, and stick with it. I don't get the rationale for all this constant flipflopping.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Good top of 1No way does this team lose after jumping out to a multiple run lead.... oh, wait
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Buck is bunting w/Nido almost every time in potential GiDP situations. Probably over-doing it IMHO
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Yeah, but we're also over-doing grounding into double-plays.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Walker looking pretty uncomfortable, but he's getting outs on not a lot of pitches. Wearing a heating pad between innings, so I wouldn't expect a long outing here.

That's overbroad (and over-pre-emptive), but it works terrifically, especially now that pitchers aren't hitting. Double plays are the worst.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 And a double-play screws over the Mets just as I type that.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 When was the last time you saw two tag outs at 3B on the same play?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Listening only, as I am at work today, but apparently the Nats just made two outs at 3rd on the same play? Dopes.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Soto on 2nd, grounder to Guillorme (3B), Soto goes anyway and is caught in rundown.Batter (Bell) advances to 2nd while thrown trying to get him goes into RFHe gets up and heads to 3rd but Marte was backing up and his throw to 3B nailed Bell by about 35 feetoe: or just see what DiComo tweeted
86dreamer Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 what was Soto griping to ump about there?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Yeah and why did Dave Martinez ask to pause and check the replay? There wasn't anything like interference.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 We need to work "preemptive" into this thread more.Interesting to see Carl's Jr. back.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 btw, anyone catch Gary's inning ending call about two innings ago?Fly to left ... Canha ... [catch made] ... corn
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 This view is great. No, Juan, you don't get to go to third.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 And just when you thought it would be a short outing for the tall man, he goes seven on a low pitch count.
