Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 I gotta say, Newsday has the best fastball on the staff. It may need work on its secondary pitches, like exploiting scandals, cashing in on LOLMets moments, and making use of Mr Met with a variety of facial expressions and such.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 I'm having a hard time believing the Brad Pitt cover won its pool. I'm guessing the other covers must have featured Chase Utley, Donald Trump and Mickey Calloway's genitalia.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2021 Author Posted December 8, 2021 There's a link to the original poll right above the picture of the cover.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 Is there a point to the Brad Pitt thing or is it just dumb on it's own?

They pretty much fire their covers down the middle and dare the offense to hit it, but they have a weak secondary repetroire. No screwballs like the Snooze and Post often spring on us.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 Ah! Never saw it (obviously).

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 I'm picking a lot of loozas this round. Is it a matter of perspective or are those models 25 feet tall?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2021 Author Posted December 15, 2021 They adjust their height as necessary.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 If they continue to stand in the middle of the L.I.E. they're not going to be tall for long.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 I just watched Moneyball on a flight this week. I was bored out of my skull. This won Oscar nominations? It's a turkey. Watching Brad Pitt smash things in a locker room and make that scrunched up constipated face is just not getting it done for me.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 I thought it was a good movie. Good performances, a little heavy on the melodrama. but not nearly as good a movie as the book was a book."He's got an ugly girlfriend"
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Call me soft, but I have trouble being objective about any movie with a Jeff Tam element.
