Cohen could get creative $$ wise and offer Cano while eating a big chunk of his remaining salary. What kind of interest would Cano generate, if he's practically given away?

Cano's a sunk cost who's PT is now very expendable going forward with Lindor now a Met.

Wow, I've totally mentally had written off Cano but the Mets are still on the hook

for '22 and '23 for like forty million smackers.

Vance Worley? Thought he'd retired years ago.

Megill was kinda okay, just as Eickhoff was. But I'm not convinced either one is a long- or even short-term answer. They'll be run out there a few more times so we shall see.

And Cano should be dumped for whatever we can get. A toaster. A bag of balls. A Ty Wigginton used jockstrap. Anything.

Megill has been performing well all year. He's really been getting it done since the day he was drafted. They'd be foolish not to give him more opportunities.

He's earned at least one more turn with his initial outing, you'd have to think, also considering the dearth of options. Vance Whirly notwithstanding.

Zack Scott spoke yesterday and it sounds like they are targeting pitching, are not looking to move any of the top tier prospects and acknowledge that the return would likely be for a starter who is not a top-tier kinda dude.

I keep thinking Jon Gray is the best of those. Sinker ball pitcher who learned to succeed in Coors, I think he could flourish with the Mets D behind him.

But I wonder if they could steal Mitch Keller from the Pirates, too. One-time top prospect who's lost of a fair bit of sheen and is trying to get right in AAA. Could be a nice future piece who could maybe even help now, and definitely a buy-low target. And the Pirates love to make shitty trades.
